If anybody looks at 9:23 for example of that vid and try to say that some kind of dive has been eatin' the ****** sandwiches.

    Legit enough.

I think the shot, which caught Ramos on the chin as he was moving straight back, was enough to put him down. You would have expected him to fall straight backward into the ropes, though, as opposed to missing the strands altogether as he landed on his back. But weird knockdowns happen in this sport, so whatever.

Really, the thing that seems to be bothering people is the fact that Ramos didn't make an attempt to get up. But Marquez had been shooting the right hand successfully prior to that point and Likar didn't have an answer for it. So, even if this was a case of calling it a night when he could have made an attempt to rise, it still counts as a legit KO for JMM.

he looked horrible. fat around his waist, no definition. the fight ended too quickly and is really of no relevance to gauge the paq fight, but i dont think that the odds are going to get better for jmm after what people saw tonight.

This supports my longtime assertion that punches that connect to the other side of the head do major damage, more often than not.

Like if you see a fighter position himself to land a right hand to the right side of his opponent's head, or left to the left side, it usually spells KO or major damage.

He got caught with a right hand on the right side of his chin. He got KTFO.

I cant call this a fake or stagged Knock out, the shot landed flush on the point of Ramos chin... and if you did a bit of research you would know that he has been on the deck before by much lesser fighters...

I see this as a legit Kayo, dont see any reason to lable it something its not, maybe the guy just showed up for a paycheck who cares its still a knock out and that wouldnt be Marquezs fault if that were the case.

either way the idea that this was fake is insane...

    I think it was legit.

To me it looked like he might have still been concious but was just so dazed from the punch he wasn't going to get up.

Seriously? I mean you really think like that? the man did take a clean shot, wasnt much power on it but it landed on the point of the chin as Ramos had his chin out in the open to be hit....

I disagree with anybody who says this is a dive.. or that this is fake..
