He did really well, but struggled to pull the trigger. There were so many times he could have unloaded a left hook, but he didn't. Good win by Degale, he had great energy, but I don't think anyone thought he would have as tough a time with Bute as he did.
I don't think so 168 is a weak division I thought he looked better tonight than he has in years. Bute can still make noise at 168.
He shouldn't retire, he was highly competitive tonight. 168 is just his weight class. He beats Abraham and Jack.
Actually he beat DeGale but the judges are corrupt. Wyatt had draw and all the 3 judges by big margins? Is this fair?
Bute couldn't pull the trigger on a number of occasions against DeGale tonight. He had DeGale in the corner many times, throws 2 punches and backs away and lose range. An elite fighter doesn't do that. When GGG or Kovalev traps a fighter in the corner, they throw with some mean intentions. Bute is still very tentative and isn't sure of himself. He did well tonight, but he's not the Bute from 5 years ago.
I didn't watch the fight, just caught bits of it but from what I did see Bute looked something like his old self. Looked confident, strong and aggressive.
proud of Bute put up a good fight wasn't tentative and gun shy like he was with Pascal. He looked good tonight and like others said it's a weak division he should not retire.
He was great tonight almost fought Degale to a draw, had he just done a little more in a round or two he would have edged it.
