Sorry, it was not a clean and jerk or a similar lift that requires a lot of technique. It was a simple military press and the weight was under 150 pounds. I could do that when I was 16 years old and I am no great lifter. He was just not that strong in terms of lifting weights. No way to candycoat or spin it.
Bull****. You need decent facilities, programs and trainers to be a swimmer. These primarily exist in suburban (re:whiter) communities. Also, it may be a cultural tendency to participate like we see in all sports (i.e. we don't see many Brits playing American football because they simply don't give a **** about the sport).
:good Exactly. Frazier doesn't seem to have much experience in those events. Notice his horrible technique in the pool. While the other swimmers have their heads down, Joe strains to keep his straight up. Joe had no lifting technique either. He just tried to lift the weight without the help of his legs. Superstars aside, I think everyone knows how good a fighter Frazier was and inside the ring with the man would be a frightfully different story. Wonder how Marciano would have fared?
Came into work today. I'd be up at 6.30 with the kids even if I wasn't. Anyway... ...John Conteh won it.
