on the undercard of the Maidana vs. Cayo fight, it's being televised by HBO...big mistake for whom?

Who wins this and why? BTW, this is for the vacated IBF lightweight title.

Funeka clearly should have won the 1st time. But this time I think we'll see a closer fight. Guzman was taking it to Funeka for the 1st few rounds before his face started coming apart, once cut coming from a headbutt.

Funeka should beat him more convincingly this time....I liked Guzman and I still think he got a little potential...he may get a belt and hang on to it for a min but he's nothing special....Funeka seems tough but his outing against nate was so-so and Nate IMO is not a top fighter..I guess it leaves Ali in the top 5 LW still

Guzman should get the L this time. It wasn't bad luck and it wasn't the cut that should have lost him the fight. It was the fact he came out strong, putting pressure on Funeka and getting inside, but then he couldn't hurt him and he was worried about his energy so he couldn't keep that pace up. That ain't going to change this time, once it settles down Funeka will get into a rhythm and outbox/outwork him from the outside.

I've had Funeka winning his last 2 fights. I think this will be his first official victory since the Raheem KO.

Well I hope so, but I see Guzman making some adjustments for this fight and just might beat Funeka via UD. Reason being, I have not seen Funeka ever make any adjustments in his fights he always does the samething. I honestly will be rooting for Ali to ko Guzman, just cuz I'm disgusted at the ruling of the last fight but I don't see it happening.

Why? Do you think the fight would have been different without the injury from headbutt? Credit to both fighters for making an immediate rematch. I think both fighters made this fight out of necessity. I don't think anyone in the division really wants to fight either fighter.

the IBF has some better rules than the WBC and WBA, but this was a near travesty. They tried to make Funeka-Reyes for the vacant title because Guzman had cuts to heal. But Reyes ducked the fight, so the necessary rematch is thankfully happening. But this infuriates me, as in the case of Valero now being Champion in Recess. They don't give fighters 48 hours before declaring them unfit to fight. The Guz-Funeka rematch is about 4 months to the day of the first fight. Yet, Guzman was almost denied the rematch for being injured. What a joke.

Credit to both men for wanting to take care of unfinished business. Would you want to see the winner of this fight challenge Katsidis or Valero? Why?

definitely. Who wouldn't? Not sure Katsidis or Valero will accept Guzy's challenge, though? Or Funeka's should he win. Actually, i don't think either would accept a challenge from Guzy or Funeka
