Great news!! Maybe this time Funeka won't get jobbed.

Really? I think both Valero and Kats have the brass to fight either Funeka or Guzman. I would personally love to see Guzman versus Valero and Funeka versus Juan Diaz or Michael Katsidis. Great fights at 135! Also, where do you think JMM fits into this?

yea, ok, maybe the fighters have the balls, but they dont make the deals. In Valero's case, he has a promoter named Arum, so i don't see it happening.

I don't think JMM fits in at 135 anywhere, and from what i've read, that's his own doing. I think he's a 140 lber now. And he seems to be in limbo.

Why is it kind of the popular opinion that Arum doesn't create challenges for his fighters? If the specific fights make sense and makes money, Arum will make the fight. No promoter will intentionally try to set their fighters up for failure, but I can't honestly see any other promoter making better fights than Arum over the past 5 years.

In my opinion, No one makes better decisions for his fighters than Bob Arum.

With that said, I think you're right about Arum staying away from Guzman, but I do think we'll see Valero/Funeka later this year if Funeka wins.

see Anthony Peterson. What has Arum done for him? May as well be promoted by Don King.

Valero/Funeka? That would never happen and goes against your points about being a money maker. That's why they are discussing Valero-Lamont Peterson! The guy that was shutout by Bradley. It's an in house fight.

Nobody is questioning his business mind, and hey, who are we to question? But as boxing fans to see Nonito Donaire continually face no-names and for Arum to put on a **** fight like Soto-Diaz as a co-feature to Pac-Clottey, the guy leaves a lot to be desired.

i think Valero is chasing pacman, he wont fight in the lightweight division anymore, Katsidis vs Guzman, that`d be a great match.
