OUtside of Marquez(who probably wont ever fight at lightweight) these are the 2 best lightweights(Soto is close) Do you think Funeka with his big height advantage and sharp punching can take Valero. Or will Valeros relentless and non stop Power punching be too much for Funeka and his vulnerable chin?

Funeka has the style to possibly beat Valero, but i think Valero eventually gets thru and kos Funeka.

    Your opinions?

Hrmm... interesting style of matches. Funeka would have to hide behind that jab all night and keep the fight at a low pace. When Funeka lets his hands go, hes very wide open and one shot from Valero could be the end of it for him. If Campbell could put him on wobbly legs, Valero could completely take it off under him.

DeMarco gave Valero some problems with his outside game. Funeka is even taller and lankier and I can see the height and reach advantage being a major factor. Funeka could well be Valero's toughest test at 135, maybe even tougher than JMM is at this point in his career.

I got Valero by late stoppage in a very tough fight.

I think Velero would take a decision over Funeka or even maybe TKO. I havnt seen much of El Inca bt to me my countryman is way to open and doesn't like to fight to his advantages.

I think Valero would knock him out but this fight should happen.

love the match up!! Mainly on the fact that they both present troubles for each other... Funeka with his set of skills and height and reach advantage would can always present some problems but Valero throws volume of punches and Funeka has been badly hurt before.... idk man its toss up to me.

I'm a big fan of Funeka and regard him as one of the best lightweights in the world, but Valero is all wrong for him. Ali's only weakness is his durability and i think that would cost him against a hard hitter like Valero. He may not be as big a puncher at 135 as he was at lower weights, but he's still very dangerous.

    Would be a great fight!

Surprised at how people are favoring Valero over a guy who not only outboxed but most probably won over Guzman.

His jab, his reach, and his style IMO can control Valero's pressure, and don't discount his power.

The size would be a factor here as well, and not just the height but the weight as well, as he is almost a Jr Middleweight come fight night (151lb).

bad style match up for valero..those long arms and lanky structure of Ali would be too much for valero, but if nate could catch him, then who says valero cant?

this is the fight that needs to happen. I think that its a bad style matchup for Funeka more than for Valero.

good fight! Funeka by decision though cause he really is a solid fighter. I expect it to be very close.

I'm not al lthat impressed with Funeka he was getting tagged by Guzman until Guzman decided to stop fighting. Valero will be on him and the fact Guzman could tag him means Valero can and he hits way harder. More interested in a Soto fight.

If Valero can get him early, he's good. Funeka is there to be hit, but his reach and skill set is nice. Overall though, I was super impressed by Valero. He has some nice skills, I think. I had never seen him and I expected him to be the crude face forward type of fighter like Mayorga.
