About that fight, what do you people think about the result? (McCarthy losing by TKO due to the headwound sustained by Mrs Wilson's shoe). My opinion is that it's about as ridiculous a decision as the situation itself.

 

Amazing result. Morgan (the ref) told McCarthy to continue. Steve, as mentioned, had an injury due to the shoe, and quite reasonable (IMO) refused to continue. Also Tony had, had time to recover from being on the verge of defeat. Although it may be little comfort for McCarthy, the sport learnt from this and ****** Smith got his son Dq'd when he entered the ring in the Hatton fight.

Although it's also a little bit unfair to be DQ'd after a family member enters the ring or even participates in the fight, it's much less fair if the opposing fighter suffers a disadvantage or even defeat because of it.
A NC would also be unfair.

So a DQ looks like the lesser of two bads.

Brilliant! I just watched the Langdale fight!

 

For me, the Cleverley Kovalev fight was pretty funny. In the build up, people asking why Cleverley was taking on a no name. Then during the undercard build up you could sense Kovalev wasn't there to make up the numbers. Then Cleverleys ****-take ring walk. The grin on his face soon changed after the first exchange.
