so from a fighter fighting at 135 directly to 147 skipping a whole weight class, clearly is nothing for Marquez to do, makes no difference whatsoever - it was no disadvantage at all! Ok, got ya!

It's only a concern when Mayweather has to fight a bigger guy - I fully understand now, thanks for the clarification :rofl

..and to be correct, Floyd weighed 146 on the scales.

Also isnt Broner doing pretty much the exact same thing for the Paulie fight and everyone is saying hes going to destroy Paulie?

Granted Paulie isnt Floyd but the again this Broner isnt as good as that Marquez either.

so if marquez fights floyd at 147 again you'd pick marquez right since hes adjusted to the weight?

Because on fight night, thefre was very little difference.

History just shows us that, even with unnofficial fight night weights.

The WW fights where Floyd got on those scales are
    Mitchell 148
    Judah 146
    Baldomir 149
    Ortiz 150

He weighed 148 a month out from fighting Guererro

Marquez has weighed in at 145, while fighting as a LW. Assuming he carried a few more lbs, because he didnt have to cut so much at WW, its arguable he weighed 147/148 against Floyd.

And...what? We're expected to assume Floyd weighed in the 160s?

Because thats what he would have had to weigh to have the same weight difference between himself and Marquez and there will be between him and Canelo.

With all that being said,I think he beats Canelo when they fight at 154.

Floyd has made a career out of beating guys 10+ lbs heavier than him

i agree - I'm confused as to why Rios and Alvarado aren't fighting at middleweight in that case. Their fight night weight is well above 160 - it all makes sense - clearly if they went up to 160 because of their fight night weight there would be no disadvantage at all to fighting Martinez or GGG

It's all to do with fight night weight, no other factors involved, I understand how it works :patsch

i know its hilarious. Especially when the same fans also say floyd schools canelo anyway. Or canelo still neets a couple of big wins before he can fight floyd.
Or my favourite, Canelo can't make demands

You can't make this **** up. I always new floyd was a ***** (by boxing standards) He will never ever make a fight in which the other boxer has a chance of winning. He'll make every excuse in the book and his fans will buy it.

I've argued with floyd fans for the last year about how floyd will never fight canelo!

there's disadvantages and atvantages to this weight cutting. Just because you can dehydrate your body 20lb's it doesn't mean its all good weight. Yourbasically pumping your body with 20lbs of water and food. Yes it makes you heavier but it also makes you sluggage, cut easy, tire early. There's advatages for doing it and not doing it, so if i was floyd i wouldnt worry about it.

Fight night weight is all that matters John, it has nothing to do with fat %, muscle mass, ability to hydrate/rehydrate, becoming accustomed to a weight - it's all to do with fight night weight, whatever that number is on the scales is all that matters - doesn't matter if it's all water instead of muscle, if it's fat instead of muscle, etc etc :nut

To be honest, I don't see any point to weigh-ins at all really, divisions are useless according to these *****s - fight night weight is the only factor

Of course, the irony is we rarely ever know Floyd's fight night weight but it's not going to be above 150 as he's such a tiny fella

These same people arguing here. turbo time and all the others. I bet they all rate floyd in there top 40 ATG lists.

I'd love for them to find another fighter on that list who refused to fight a fighter in a division that he had a belt in, was ranked number 1/2 in, because he said he was too small

Floyds a 1st time HOF for sure, but no way an ATG.

    :rofl

thats cos you probably dont want to see floyd lose.

The alvarez fight makes the most money. Its also the most competetive.

if it doesnt get made its because floyd scared of losing.
