Well I can show you about 20 fight night weigh in from Floyd as a developed adult world champion where the highest hes ever weighed is 150,with the lowest about 136.

Why do you think Marquez used to cut so much weight to fight at SFW and LW??

Of course being the bigger man in the ring helps!

In reality Marquez and Floyd walk around,at about the same weight.

Years ago, before dey before weigh ins, they'd have been fighting in the same divisions.

When did I say that? That question has nothing to do with what we're saying - we're talking about Marquez coming up 2 divisions to a division he's never fought in against a fully fledged welterweight is not a disadvantage at all but Mayweather going to a division he's already fought in twice and won belts in, 1 up from where he is now, is unfair because he's so small...that's what we're saying here - your question has no bearing on this - stick to topic!

What Marquez do you think looked better? Their weigh-in and fight night weights for both fights were around 1lb apart, the 2nd Marquez had also fought at 140 since the Mayweather fight so used to bigger guys...body fat, lean muscle mass, and acclimatisation has nothing to do with it obviously!

It's that magic number at fight night that's the only factor

but since marquez is adjusted now, hed be able to handle mayweather now right, since there is no disadvantage anymore?

hes had more welterweight fights than floyd has junior middleweight fights afterall

Yeah so when Mayweather defeats a smaller guy it's because he's a better boxer but when Mayweather has to fight a bigger guy it's unfair coz they might beat him but not because they're a better boxer.

Umm, in case you havent been flollowing boxing for the past 15 years(It would seem you havent), Floyd has made a career out of beating bigger guys.

    Castillo (Both times)
    Corrales
    De La Hoya
    Baldomir
    Ortiz
    Cotto

All had at least 10 lbs on him.

Silly post - I'm not here saying Mayweather weighs 160 - I'm saying that the many times he hasn't stepped on the scales you can bet he was well over 150...

Marquez wasn't very well adjusted to light weight when he fought Mayweather. Now he's bigger and on steroids he could cause a few problems.

What was Mayweather's fight night weight against Cotto? I didn't think they had weighed themselves, I know he was 151 at weigh-in

Again, never said he'd handle Mayweather, you're trying badly to change the point, I wonder why!

Do you think there is any difference between Marquez who fought Pacquiao and the one who fought Mayweather? Both physically and in terms of fights...Marquez came from 135 straight to 147. after that fight he fought 140,140, 140, 144 catchweight, 140, 147

But no difference whatsoever right? No point going on I think, we'll agree to disagree :good

and he will continue to do so no doubt. Let's just say Angel 'convicted steroid dealer' Hernandez has helped him again a lot of strength.

Man, people are still making up excuses for this ****. There have been numerous great boxers over the years that have fought men much naturally bigger then them and on a much better level then Canelo is. This **** is pathetic. This is not like Roy Jones having to pack on 20 pounds of muscle and still give up 30 pounds, this is Mayweather who walks around at 150 plus and fighting another champion at 154lbs. Before the Trout fight, Canelo had been coming in in the mid 160s. There is no drastic height or reach difference. Anyone saying that this fight shouldn't take place because of weight are ****ing *****s.

BTW, I know *****s like to brag about how Floyd is such a small WW and could easily fight at 140lbs. The fact that the man couldn't make weight for Marquez and has only stepped on the scale once on the night of the fight since he unretired says otherwise.

I don't think Marquez would beat Mayweather, he's a natural counter puncher who isn't as fast, but is a lot tougher and better on the inside, so naturally he has a style night mare there, but his added strength will have helped and he has the power now to KO Mayweather.
