A lot of Klitschko's opponents weigh the same or more. Weight means nothing, all that matters is muscle mass, size and reach. Marquez came in bloated against Mayweather.

    And who's take that bet?

    Hoe could you prove it?

You're just speculating. The guy weighed 148 a month out from Guererro and didnt step on the scales.

Are you saying he weighed a lot above 150 in that fight?

I'm starting to get a little suspicious about this ongoing discussion about the weight disparity for this fight. First of all Floyd hasn't said a single word about it. He may take the fight and still not mention anything about it. The people who are complaining are some Mayweather fans and I'm starting to wonder if it is a ploy to exaggerate the significance of a Mayweather win over Alvarez if the fight was ever to take place. It would be a decent win for sure (and Canelo is one of the closest things Mayweather has to a challenge at the moment) but Floyd would undoubtedly be favourite with the bookies and with good reason, he would win. I would go as far as to say the weight difference would raise an eyebrow but the way some people are talking is as if David and Goliath would be battling it out.

Exactly, it's a bad match up for Marquez style-wise, but that's not the point at all - that's so far removed from the point it sounds like desperation

Man, I have seen everything from *****s. They actually believe Mayweather and Marquez are the same size and believe that Guerrero is actually bigger then Floyd. Your talking about the same Floyd who has been at WW for 8 years while those fighters are career LWs.

The fact that his fans think a fighter like Canelo is to big for him is sad. People keep looking at Floyds performances at 154lbs and try to say he didn't look as good against ODH or Cotto because he wasn't used to the weight. No, he didn't look as good because he was fighting good boxers and styles make fights.

Look at those links I posted of Marquez in the Mayweather fight compared to Marquez in the Pac 4 fight, and his weight didn't go up that much. Size isn't all about weight simple as that. If one guy has had to bloat up and the other is operating well at the weight then they have a size advantage.

It's ok for Mayweather to have this excuse but no one else. De La Hoya and Mosely both would have fought Canelo in their peaks.

If this ws the 70s JMM and Floyd would have been fighting at the same weight class for most of their careers.

Marquez fight night weight has been in the 140s since he was fighting at SFW.

Even going back to when they were young.

In 1999 when JMM was fighting Norwood at FW, he was weighing 134 in the ring

At the same time when Floyd was fighting Manfredy, he was weighing 138 in the ring.

When Floyd was fighting Ortiz he weighed 150 in the ring.

2 months later, JMM weighed 150 in the ring against Pacquiao.

They ARE pretty much the same size.

Mayweather may naturally have a few pounds on his, thats it.

And Guererro WAS bigger than Floyd. He was taller and was heavier.
    What more do you want?

Just because He used to starve and dehtdrate himself to weigh 135 for about 10 seconds on the scales, doesnt make him smaller.

All very useful information, thanks for that

Q: why didn't Mayweather go down to 135 to fight Marquez then when he came out of retirement if their weight is so similar? - once again, the fact you're just comparing a number speaks volumes about your argument

Q: Why did Mayweather fail to make 144 even, could only come in at 146 whereas a Marquez with impressive love handles still came in at 142?

Q: Why isn't Mayweather fighting at 140 now? There's no interesting fights at 147 in the Top rank stable, if 147 is so big and "Lil Floyd" is so little, why isn't he at 140?

Q: Why didn't he fight Hatton at 140, that's Hatton's comfortable weight after all...instead he made Hatton go up to 147
