    A. Why on earth did he need to go down and fight Marquez? It was JMM who called Mayweather out.
Guys tend to come UP to gight big fights. VERY rare for asnyone to go down.

    A. Because he doesnt like cutting weight.

    Good enough answers?

Also in going back over Marquez's fights looking for same night weights, I found he tended to be involved in a lot of fights where the fightnight weights werent given.

Suppose he didnt like people knowing he was cutting so he could fight smaller fighters.

So why wasn't Marquez fighting at welterweight way before that point if fight night weight is all that matters? You're being one dimensional and just looking at the number - fact is Mayweather has such lean mass, and very little body fat, Marquez' muscle mass now is much better, it's now more of a true 147lb fighter, actually even that is a stretch, I would say he's more of a 140 fighter who can fight at welterweight as he has the ability to shed water weight - please tell me you see the difference?

Please tell me you're seriously not just looking at the number...I mean come on, how much do you know about how the body burns fat, puts on muscle etc...you're throwing numbers abuot but it's not about that. It takes a while for a fighter going up in weight for his lean body mass to match that weight - the fact is Marquez' muscle mass was still that of a lightweight, Mayweather's muscle mass is a true welterweight - Marquez now is pure lean muscle - it's a huge difference, you can see it! I mean I really just dont' understand how you're not getting this

Yes, Mayweather doesn't like cutting weight because he can't!!! His body clearly doesn't retain much water as he never hydrates to huge levels, and his lean muscle mass is very high - he doesn't like cutting because he simple can't cut without wasting muscle!

Come on dude, do not tell me Marquez was at the same weight advantage as Mayweather just because you're comparing 148 to previous Mayweather fight night weights of 150 when it's about what that number means that matters!

Ill tell you why he wasnt fighting at a higher weight.

BECAUSE HE LIKED HAVING A SIZE ADVANTAGE!

He know that most guys at 140,really weighed over 150

And most guys at 147,really weighed over 155.

Why on earth do you think fighters drain down???

Marquez has been weighing in the 140s since he was fighting at 130!

Like when Pacquiao went up, he wasnt actually putting on any size, if there was any,it was negligible.

He went from being an ENORMOUS SFW
    To
    A very big LW
    To
    A small WW

And briefly as a regular sized LWW.

If there was still same day weigh ins,Marquez would have been fighting at 140/147 for the past decade of so, because thats his fighting weight
