Avni Yilidrim has to be the funniest one though! I heard people talking about how he was some beast who was gonna win the WBSS. One watch of one of his fights and I knew very quickly he was a slow, plodding, terrible boxer, he made Eubank Jr look like the p4p number 1 lol.

 

and tbh almost every top Cuban amateur that turned pro could be added to this thread.

 

I agree with your list, but Khan had the speed to be something special, he just never learned from his mistakes, nor did he study tapes on boxing matches, he was awful.

 

Not really an Alexander fan, however, nobody ever hyped him up. He more than earned his stripes.

I seem to remember very differently! People from his country were talking like Bradley vs Alexander was Hagler vs Hearns , he got a load of hype after he beat Urango, he was so overrated for such an average fighter.

I've been saying since 2015 how badly he's overhyped despite his abysmal resume and reluctance to fight decent opposition.

Fast forward almost 5 years later, and his legacy/career is a total joke, he got beat up his last fight yet his fangirls want you to believe he actually wonlol:) and his ENTIRE legacy has been built up around Canelo. These people got so deluded that I've stopped commenting on GGG and just sit back, watch and laugh at his deluded fanbase.


It's honestly been a joy reading the butthurt and hypocrisy play out throughout the years. Some of these guys legit still have him in the top 10 p4p list, if that's not the very definition of overhyped, then idk what is.

 

Yeah he got away with one of the best orchestrated robberies in boxing history.

Amir Khan. There was a time where I remember reading posts of him whipping Mayweather and unless you literally prove it in the ring I don’t see it, I can’t. One simply does not whip Mayweather’s ass.
