My Brother in law, in his most authoritative tone, came out with "Pacquiao should have tried to knock Mayweather out"!! I wouldn't have minded if he hadn't watched the fight, but he did!!:patsch

He then proceeded to claim that the fight was obviously fixed (quoting some fcuking tw-at on Facebook as his source)...

I usually get on well with our Mick, but he p!ssed me off, so I told to stfu as the only ring he's ever been in is his secret Boyfriend's!! Which did kind of ruin the Sunday lunch atmosphere at wor lasses Parents' house!!!

I once spent an evening ripping into a friend who suggested Tyson and Bruno should have a rematch.

Seven years later I was picking Bruno to win that rematch...

It really makes me laugh when casuals actually think that Anthony " The Future People's Champion " Joshua is going to be better than Lennox Lewis :lloll

That one is unlikely, but could happen.

Watching boxing over the years I have learnt never to say never.

Giving completely daft "Who would win?" scenarios without any consideration regarding weight division, one I heard last week was, "Who would have won if Mayweather and Ali fought?"

Was down the pub talking to a mate about Mayweather. I said that 48-0 was incredible but don't forget Chavez went to 89-0 at one point.

"Never heard of him mate, he must have had one of those padded records you hear about"

I remember when Hatton fought Mayweather all the young lads around our way got on the Hatton bandwagon.
They were making a day of it on the booze and on my way to the boozer on the Saturday afternoon they all passed me by on their way to the bookies saying we're putting our houses on Ricky!
I just said keep your dough he'll be outboxed or stopped late. They all just looked at me as though I was a nutcase and indicated that I didn't know what I was taliking about!
Needless to say they lost their dough!

There's a fine line between patriotism and blind optimism. :D

It is harder to be objective sometimes when one of your own is involved. I couldn't really give a monkeys about Pacman but I really wanted to see Hatton smash Floyd.

Oh believe me I wanted Ricky to win as much as they did!
It's just that most of them were football supporters!

Chris Rock made a joke about Flloyd beating Ali on twitter but so many people missed it he had to tweet it again with "Because Ali has parkinsons" on the end :patsch

A few years ago I was telling a guy that Haye was a lot of hype and outside of the UK he really was no big name. I also tried to explain that his chances against Wlad were slim. The casual countered with saying that I knew nothing about boxing and that Haye was a major force at heavyweight. To back up his statement he was telling how many hits you would get on Haye on a google search compared to Wlad! That obviously proved how great Haye was as a fighter!!!
