Bernard Hopkins once said he wouldnt even use Mundine as a sparring partner. But it now looks like he'll get the chance to promote the Man, so he jumps on Fox saying how Mundine will be huge.:think

Hopkins was on fox saying stuff like "a lot of people have wanted to sign this fighter, now we have the chance to promote him. We'll bring him along slow:lol:, introduce him to the world, then he'll be huge". Something along those lines.

And on the sparring partner line, he said that years ago when asked about Mundine. It went something like this, "if Sven Ottke knocked him out, i wouldnt use him as a sparring partner".

    HAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA

Bring him along slow . . . . JEEEZ Anthonys been brought along just as slow as you can freakin get!

If this was straight after the second Soliman fight i will admit id be as excited as anything . . . At this stage, where Anthony is at, its all over unfortunately . . . Too old, too many injuries, too much time wasted . . . I honestly doubt he'll even fight in America under one of GBP cards and even if he does, when he fight the level of a Sturm, Abraham or Pavlik he'll get beat and GB will dump him quick smart.

Totally agree with you. :good Mundine loses when/if he takes on an elite level fighter again. Are Golden Boy now going to do cards in boxing mega cities like Canberra, Woollongong, Newcastle ,Gold Coast etc with Mundine fighting some no mark ? AS IF.

as much as i hate mundine, i still think he can beat sturm, and be very competitive against the top guys, might not win all of them but hes got good reflexes and when facing a hard opponent is really well prepared... he was well prepared for kesslar, green, soliman... just has to show that form to really get the wheels rolling, hell never be huge in america, but if he wins a title golden boy is the one ud want to be fighting under...

Didn't Mundine meet with De La Hoya when he was in the US a while back? Maybe a deal was done, some doors opened, etc. Golden Boy promoting Mundine would be good for him, however, he really still needs to prove his mettle against some top notch fighters. I don't know, but this could be the year Mundine steps it up, surely he is running against father time?

Pretty silly to finally sign with a promoter and then fight Green, a fight that promotes itself. Surely GBP wont be a part of the Mundine/Green rematch?

I still don't think he does know who Mundine is. He never actually mentions Mundine's name in the fox sport news piece. He probably thought he was talking about some young sensation from Mexico. :D

Any slower and his 'progess' would actaully be going backwards!

A.M. is not a 'career' fighter - full stop - never has been. It's all, and has only ever been, about the $$$$$$$$$$$$.

I started losing respect for Hopkins when he started whinging about losing the first fight to Taylor...I lost some more when he whined about losing the rematch and refused to donate his gloves to charity...then when he started carrying on before, during and after the Calzaghe fight, I lost any remaining respect I had for him.

He's just one of DLH's puppets now...
