Calm yourself down, buttercup. I wasn’t comparing Joshua’s and Fury’s opponents. I was simply pointing out that Ruiz was brought in to fall over and make AJ more amenable to a new American audience.

So you were comparing their opponents then?

I don't get what point you are trying to make here. Ruiz obviously did better than many thought but by the same token, plenty were saying Joshua had pretty sizeable question marks with regards to his engine, his ability to deal with speed and smaller fighters. Also, many were saying look past the fact that Ruiz is a fat lad; fast hands, an arguable decision that went against him against Parker that he should have won, a decent record.

The thing that unites people who hate and love Fury is that nobody thinks the likes of Schwarz and Wallin present any threat at all.

I really don't think he was comparing, think you've misread it Tony. He was pointing out that Ruiz was supposed to be fairly easy work for Joshua in his own right.

Ruiz was a credible opponent though, clearly miles better than Schwartz or Wallin. Despite that though they probably thought Ruiz' style would play into Joshua's hands and get them a highlight real KO.

Ironically they thought Michael Hunter would be awkward and were wary of that fight.

Nope, as I just said I wasn’t comparing opponents. I think it’s quite an easy paragraph to understand but you’re in one of your argumentative moods :eusa_dance:

Sonny, unless you sit Ringside you aint got a prayer to score a fight correctly.Fact. You have never ever been Ringside at a fight even at the local clublevel, another fact.................Fury was not robbed , he got lucky with the draw, in boxing sticking you tongue out, raising you arms and throwing 5.124 flickering punches a round with ZERO sauce behind while getting knocked down TWICE hard and almost out aint winning no fight on a championship level...................you have a lot more faith than Fury in his abilities because he is not exactly dying for a re match , far from it , he is running away from it.................at last but not least, according to you "experts" Wilder is a total bum......so Fury is running scared from a Bum ?

He was there to be a competitive opponent mate. They just didn’t realise how competitive he would be! They knew they couldn’t have got away with a Schwarz or Wallin type.

I got as far as ‘you’ve never been ringside’ and just yawned and stopped reading.

To a point mate imo. He had 3 belts, I don’t think he’d have got away with the standard of puddings Fury’s facing.

More standing on tippy toes and kissing with awkward smiles? He's unbeaten so that makes him dangerous man! My son was vicious tonight!

Completely agreed. It was a complete bluff job and Fury knows it. He hit nothing but thin air and Wilders elbows for the first 6 then got dropped, hard and twice, in the last six. A draw was more than fair to Fury.

The whole sticking your tongue out and awkwardly pivoting his flabby midsection thing was concocted to get as many casual fans on board with the post-fight whitewash as possible. And it worked.

The commentary was among the most biased I've ever heard, both on the American and UK platforms. I couldn't believe I was watching the same fight. Rawlings has shown his form in the last BT outing where he was literally shutting Barrie Jones up from saying the truth. On the stateside platform that night Malignaggi was calling Fury's jab "a masterclass" from round 2, when he was hitting nothing.

PED Pudding Whyte also a zero threat to Fury - PEDs would be put to good use punching fresh air all night.

Haha. Thing is, as soon as they start being condescending they lose me. Just no excuse for being rude like that. I know it’s an anonymous boxing fans board but still, have some respect. Plenty of posters on here who do just that and that’s why it’s a good place to be.
