If Fury stops the little fatty who made Joshua QUIT like a dog on his US debut, then smashes up the feather fisted cruiser for that Saudi blood money, then beats the winner of JOYCE and PAPA Zhang II… Wilder pancakes AJ cold in a couple of rounds, do we get Fury Wilder IV or does Fury call it a day?
If all that happens then yes Fury should call it a day and be happy that he’s prove himself the greatest of his era…IF, and it’s a big IF. Though beating AJ outright also will allow you to simultaneously gloat and wet yourself at the same time!
I don't think Fury needs AJ since Ruiz already buck broke him and USKY turned him into an after dinner speaker. Does a mentally shot AJ add anything to Fury's ATG standing? Not for me.
Fury needs as many top 10 fighters as possible before he retires. He should be ashamed of himself that he's only really beat Wilder since becoming the man a decade ago.
It's the reactionary nature of most boxing fans. A few weeks ago Joyce was the best thing since sliced bread, 40% were picking him to beat Fury and two thirds had him beating Wilder. It was a foregone conclusion that he'd beat 7/1 underdog Zhang, 90% had him winning there. It was the consensus among the brilliant "technical analysts" on here that he had massively improved since the Jennings fight... Now Joyce is basically a bum, for the crime of losing (though never showing any quit and being stopped against his will) to a 20 stone 6'6 southpaw power puncher with great heart (dime a dozen no doubt in the 70's!) and silver medallist who had never definitively lost a pro fight, including against massive favourite Hrgovic (who most also thought was the next best thing before Zhang "exposed" him). Excluding Fury, Ring had Wilder 2 ranked at 1, Wilder 3 at 2 and Whyte at 4. They have Ruiz at 5 and Usyk at 1, who could be Fury's next two/three opponents.
Eddie Chambers is back. He's pretty tight with Fury. Let's hope for all our sakes he's not padding a few wins against bouncers so Fury can justify giving him a title shot. I could genuinely see truth in this. It's pretty much how the Chisora fight came about.
