We do but if Joshua loses to Usyk then surely we get a better fight in Usyk vs Fury?

I personally want to see the best fights, champions against champions. If Fury loses and it’s Wilder vs Joshua/Usyk then I have no problem. If Joshua loses to Usyk I’d be a bit gutted from the UK side of things but still what a great fight we would have on our hands.

A.J vs Usyk by 99% will have rematch clause in contract.

Cant see usyk beating joshua. As good as usyk is....hes not a heavyweight. These guys in joshua and fury etc are basically super heavyweights.

Big big difference in the power and strength to the guys usyk fights. With his skill level he can beat heavier guys than him but when hes giving away that much weight/strength/power etc...it,ll be too big an ask.

I reckon usyk will tire out before joshua does. As crazy as that sounds. But trying to make up for a natural weight difference like there is...is tiring work even for the best of them.

I think I see Fury's master plan here!!

He gets Joshua to vacate the belt then pull out of the fight and then arrange an undisputed with chisora??!!!!??
    Then retire undisputed and Undefeated!!!

Clauses usually are demanded by current belt holder + there is eddie. The same Whyte fight with 41.yo Povetkin too appears had rematch clause........ Whyte probably easily might be made mandatory without any fight with Povetkin. Then Povetkin was also lower in rangs before first his fight with Whyte than Povetkin is now in these rankings.

I think more problems for Usyk might make fact that Fury and A.J does have damn good reach + are heavier than he. They both are with high IQ and might capitalise their advantages vs boxer with lesser reach or weight than they does have.

Yeah agree surrix. That reach advantage is a big one. Especially when usyk gets a lot of success with his range. Seems to be able to just stay out of range and yet get guys working hard. I reckon a lot of usyks success is from making the opponent work harder than they want to be working.

Think it,ll be harder for him bearing in mind his threats gonna be too far away.

One of the main privileges of earning a mando slot is not having to agree to any rematch

eddie is eddie, he might find way to make agree ( higher purse etc if agreed ), he likes rematch clauses a lot.

Joshua’s been chinned by 6”1 Ruiz, Fury’s been chinned off 6”3 Cunningham. Povetkin just bingo’d an opponent who had a 2 stone weight advantage on him. All 3 were floored by the shot they didn’t see coming which are the shots that do the damage. Usyk is 6”3, and probably around Wilder’s ‘normal’ fight weight.

If a fighter throwing the shot is over 15 stone and times it sweetly, he can knock out any heavyweight, especially one who’s working a lot harder and getting peppered more than he normally does.

The problem is the delay in seeing the world's number 1 v world's number 2.

At the moment, most people have Fury and Joshua as the top 2, and want them to face off (a minority still have Wilder and Fury #2 and #1 but we've seen that fight twice anyway, and a third is imminent).

Most people agree that Usyk would be a reasonable and intriguing challenger for Joshua or Fury.
But that's no excuse to be excited about "#1 v #2" match being delayed for yet another fight.
Usyk versus the winner would make more sense.

If Usyk beats AJ then he’s one of the top 2 and then it’s still 1v2. I have no problem of any of the top 3/4/5 fighting amongst each other.

Yes, and it's still a delayed fight ....
We already have to put up with AJ-Pulev and Fury-Wilder 3 before we see "1v2", which we are hoping for next summer.
Another fight makes it about 12 to 15 months away, realistically.
