Who had Parker, Wilder and Ortiz beaten? Outside of Wlad AJ has feasted on B/C level opposition as well.
I think Fury is actually (at his best) a very good fighter. But the mark of an elite fighter isn't peaking for one night and then letting it all go. If it was then Buster Douglas would be in top 10 lists. The mark of an elite fighter is beating good comp day in, day out, year after year.
That's an interesting point. I wonder if there's a time limit on that contract? Maybe Wlad might have a case as Fury never fought him next.
Look what an old Vlad did to Joshua.........................Joshua was drunk most of the fight! Fury has speed, and he is far superior to Horn which everyone was claiming to the the best at 147 except Teddy Atlas, myself and a few others. Fury said he would take a few tuneup fights before coming back to the top and he was on top................Wilder would not fight an old Vlad, are you kidding? Wilder is a disgrace. Fury is on his way back, let's see how he does. I remember when Ali came back, he had tuneups if you remember. There is huge prejudice against Fury, Golovkin, Kovalev, Bivol, Gvozdyk, Beterbiev, Usyk, Gassiev, Sirenko, Lomachenko, Golovkin, etc. Crawford fighting Horn was a disgrace to boxing as if was called a title fight, after Horn was beaten almost to death by Pac, but cheated as a set up for Crawford because Crawford was afraid of Spence, Porter...................
But again bar the eye test Ortiz only had 2 notable wins, geriatric Thompson and B level Jennings. Parker scraped by both Ruiz jr and HLFury and went the distance with a F level opponent. Wilder has an array of C level wins (and worse), also his best wins are Stivernne and Ortiz. As for AJ outside of Wlad he has Breazeale, Takam, Whyte....non are op drawer and again C level imo. I'm not saying TF has an elite record, its not but it' certainly on par with everyone else' and better than some. The division for resumes is pretty level at the moment I think and bar the hype AJ gets its good level playing ground.
the funny thing people have always said this about fury well before he fought wlad Looks can be deceiving but he is very awkward to fight and has the best boxing brain I seen in the game for a long long time
People are calling Furys performance awful then he'll be the greatest after his next fight... Welcome to the world of the boxing fan!
Fury wasn't even trying... He's no Klitchko in ways of being in shape 24/7 obviously....so he's 2 fights away from where he needs to be. It's real proof training isn't fighting. I think he's still going to defeat Wilder if they ever meet. If he had a live opponent in front of him he wouldn't have stepped away with each solid shot and made sure he didn't hit them too hard like this one..lol
