He also beats Liston in a mythical match so yeah obvi an ATG fighter.

 

Because everyone on anyone's top 5 -10 ATG HW'S beat his ass.

No. ATG is reserved for the the men that cleaned out their era. It’s not head to head fantasy match ups. I understand many people that feel Fury would beat Liston or Marciano etc. However ATG’s take on all their best challengers and that is something Fury has not done. Beating an Old Wlad, with no Rematch and beating Wilder 2-3 times (a fighter many myself included believe is vastly overrated m) does not make you an ATG. Fury will make the hof but to be ATG - he has to fight and beat Usyk and Joshua. Maybe even an upcoming young gun.

 

Fury has beaten Wilder, in reality, three times. Your post doesn't quite add up.

He's not even proven he's the best of his era yet. Beating Wlad was great and all but he was an old champion who arguably was ready to be taken, like many old champions at the end of their careers. It's what Fury has done or more importantly not done since that win.

The Wilder victories were great for reviving Fury's career after his suspension but lets be honest Wilder was a protected title holder who resume is very thin. Wilder's best win is Ortiz, who's best win is Jennings, Christ even Joyce after 15 fights has a better resume than Ortiz or even Wilder as Parker has a much deeper resume than Ortiz which means Joyce has a better win than Wilder.

Getting into the top 10 ranked heavyweights of all time should not be that easy a feat, you should at least be the best of your era or one of the best in a truly stacked great era and lets be honest this era is average at best.

Fury needs to prove he's number 1 by beating Usyk and even that might not be enough to get him into the top 10, because the standard is that high. Throw in a win over Joshua and then perhaps one of the top guys, if not the top guy of the next wave, like Joyce, then he's at least up for debate as a top 10 ATG, but right now he falls well short of the requirements.

 

Never said these guys weren't good - it takes more than that though. It's Fury's own fault with the layoffs.

 

I agree. That still doesn't make Fury an ATG - barkley KO'ing Hearns doesn't make him an ATg. Douglas Ko'ing Tyson doesn't make him an ATG, McCall Ko'ing Lewis, etc.

 

Whyte proved he's a legit top 10 fighter of his time which is a good win for Fury, especially how easily he dominated him and then put him to sleep, nobody has done that to Whyte because he gave Joshua and Povetkin problems before getting KO'ed.

But Wallin? Nah not buying it, he's done nothing since giving a disinterested Fury a cut and few rough moments. Wallin is overrated after the Fury fight. He's kind of like how Jennings was overrated after giving Wlad a tougher fight than expected. Jennings of course then got exposed by Ortiz, Wallin has yet to step up and get exposed but when he does, it will happen.
