What is it, 2 weeks since his last fight? He's going to have 70 fights in his career and probably lose 20 of them. The bloke just likes fighting, plain and simple. Sit back and enjoy the ride, he'll be a legend in 10 years, world champ or not.
big respect to a guy fighting this often when u fight this often cans are expected as your fighting for low money big props more should do it
:deal So close to gruelling fight with McDermott i wouldn't expect him to be in top top shape (not that he usually is anyhow)
with him fighting so regularly, if he tried to stay in top shape for each fight he would eventually just burn out
I think he is doing the right thing keeping busy and boxing in ireland 4 first time, hopefully he will fight some1 a bit tougher on the froch undercard before hes rematch with jonh.
He could try and shift the spare tyre for the odd fight though. He's got no excuse for that kind of belly.
he probably gorged after the other fite then this just came up???? either way the guys gotta be training a lot if he will fight a lot right mad props , keep it up and monitor the guys diet rest should take care of itself
to be honest though, he seemed to get in better shape fight by fight, he doesnt need to be going backwards know what i mean? even if it is some ****ing polish bum
This fight is pointless imo. I can understand wanting to keep busy but droping back down to this level is a complete waste of time. Surely he was approached to do prize fighter? If he thinks he's that good, and wants to fatten his record,he could of picked up 3 more decent W's and nice 32 large ones all in one night:huh maybe he wasnt approached but if it was me,and i thought i was as talented as this kid obviously thinks he is, I'de be telling Hennessey to get me on that bill, and i cant see Hearn turning him away:think But he chooses to walk through another no hoper, for what? 5/6 grand? Maybe i'm missing something but I cant take this lad seriously. The hype, the bull****,its all seems a bit unprofessional and a bit laughable to me :-(
If he is honestly having as much trouble getting sparring as he insists, then is there an argument that being this active is of huge benefit for the rematch with McDermott. Just thinking out loud here, if he was given 90 days to fight McDermott on 23rd September and he fights tonight and 17th October on the Froch card, then he has he has given himself 60 days(ish) to rest up, then train and prepare for McDermott II. There is not really any window of opportunity for any mishaps. I am presuming the McDermott fight is a better pay day, so why risk two lesser paid fights in the interim. By risk I mean injury wise.
Keeping active has to be applauded, but there is absolutely no excuse for being out of shape...fat fighters have no place in our sport. He should be looking desperately for a decent conditioning coach as the lad has all the physical attributes to be able to hone a physique similar to Vit and Vlad, and this can only help as far as durability and power is concerned.
