This really isn't going to the big story which Warren, Fury and his fans think it is. Fury coming back is news but it's not that big of a deal
Not that big of a deal? Give over. Love him of hate him, Fury is "the man" in tje heavyweight division. If he's active and looking good, AJ must face him. Biggest fight in British history, I'd call that a big deal.
He isn't "the man" he's been inactive FAR too long to still call him that. Wilder vs AJ is for "the man" fury jas to beat the winner of that to reclaim it
I hope since they've taken so long to announce this that they actually have an opponent for him aswell really annoys me when they build up some big press conference to say 'so and so will be back in the ring on this date but we don't have an opponent yet' And then they get some bum over last minute and say we couldn't get a good opponent because there wasn't enough time if he has signed with warren you can guarantee fury's comeback opponent to be some feather fisted blown up light heavyweight cab driver who's barely 6 ft rant over
Yeah let's have a name. Even if only domestic level but someone who's competent and might give him more work than he's had in the gym a proper bout. I'm not holding my breath though. It will probably a part-time plumber from Lithuania whos 8-12-2, and then his next fight will be against Briggs
I don't mind if he fights a bum Lithuanian plumber or something. He's been out for years now and completely unfit. Just don't make it a PPV event or even a solitary main event. Put it on an undercard or making it a co-main with a British or European title fight as the other main. I don't want to see him fight old hasbeens like Briggs, who wasn't much good 20 years ago anyway. I'd rather a low profile bum than an old name. Problem for Fury and Warren is : If they are going to bill Fury as "the real heavyweight champion of the world", they force themselves into having to face world class contenders. We'll see. I think Warren will trawl the various alphabet rankings looking for a "Mark De Mori" or "Peter McNeeley", some bum who has mysteriously been ranked and sports a numerically impressive win-loss record.
It’ll be typical warren going down the Wbo route again, at least they have a couple of nobodies in there top 15 ranked list
Fury beating AJ would be a disaster for British boxing. AJ has pretty much been carrying our biggest promoters business on his back for the last 2 years- the idea of Fury beating him in a boring fight and then dissapering again for 3 years whilst claiming to be better then Ali doesn’t bare thinking about.
Don't be so sure of that. I was a Fury fan from his first fight, one of very few online until recent years i might add. But even a 100% fury is not a guaranteed winner vs Joshua, maybe 60/40 in furys favour But 3 years being morbidly obese, abusing coke and booze? No Peter Fury in the corner (who btw isn't training him because he believes his career is over) We aren't going to see a 100% fury ever again, we will lucky to get a 70% version and that version is FAR from certain to beat AJ
No clue how accurate but have read he fights on the TF vs MH undercard in Manchester, June 9th. Opponent is TBA, that bit I imagine is accurate.
If Fury does that we'll all have to admit he's a GREAT boxer. That's not bad for British boxing. Don't conflate"Eddie Hearn's business" with British boxing. And Joshua may well turn out to be great too, regardless of how he fares against Fury. Both Fury and Joshua are credits to British boxing.
