Shock horror everybody, we waited all these weeks for them to tell us that Raducanu has won! Well deserved. But...Fury didn't even get in the top 3. I WONDER WHY. Pathetic. Rigged.

Adam Peaty 3rd and Tom Daley 2nd. No surprises. Peaty is a BBC favourite who sold his soul to the BBC to do a documentary and is regularly on the BBC. And Tom Daley is gay..so that's a diversity checkbox ticked for the BBC execs I guess. The Chinese divers destroyed him in the individual finals.

They also made some of the most brain-dead decisions I've seen on this show to date. Team of the year went to England Football Team, a team that didn't even win a trophy.

Lifetime award went to Simone Biles for stuff about mental health. More checkboxes ticked there BBC! So much for the 'lifetime' award actually awarding a lifetime of sporting excellence. Biles isn't even 30 years old yet.

World sport person of the year went to some jockey nobody has even heard of. This was from a group of 6 nominees including Cheatnelo, who probably deserved it more than this no-name jockey. And Max Verstappen should have won, if that wasn't obvious I don't know what is.

So yeah, great show BBC! You ticked off the diversity and mental health boxes. That's a job well done for the execs, who will now get their well-deserved bonus.

I seriously doubt sometimes it's a public vote with the likes of Zara Tindall winning it and this 19 y/o girl is a one hit wonder by the look, ticks a lot of Lineker's modern Britain boxes though.

Absolutely, it's trickling down to your average Joe in the street now with how social media is, people want to be viewed a certain way and almost have pre programmed answers and responses to anything, a lad who used to live with my gf painted himself as this free thinking liberal, he's in a band and he did a song about small minded racists and letchy men, last time I saw him he was desperately trying and failing for ages to get his dick in a girl literally half his age who was full on UKIP, used to share BNP stuff all the time and make dumb comments about gay people, although so did he "all gay people are great". He never did get his cocktail sausage in her but he got it ripped out of him about his antics, I remember watching him on a rant saying that anyone who is even friends with someone remotely right is part of the problem, incredible.

Taylor achieved more than Fury in boxing. Fury just beat a guy he beat twice before. Was never winning.

Swimming isn't my thing but the swimmer guy is probably THE absolute best in his format yet the underdog story won it.

    Exactly.

Fury's last three fights have been against the same person, he's old, he's been around forever, he's an ex druggie and a Gypsy. No chance.

Hamilton lost last week, so he had no chance.

Emma took the nation by storm a few months ago, caught the attention of the world, is only 17/18, and is super marketable. And she consistently faces the best, which most Boxers don't do.

    Nobody cares about Boxing.

Winning the US open throws your hat in the ring for being the best tennis player considering that the world No.1 hasn`t won many grand slams and that Emma was so young and played out of her skin against a player being touted as the next big thing, only time will tell if the Brit will become world No.1 but her tennis in that match was astonishing.

Took the nation by storm? Really?

Tennis is rarely the topic of discussion when talking sport with your mates down the pub.

I'm not begrudging the girl her award mind.

That is my issue with certain sports, they're elitist. Darnell might look at Lewis Hamilton as a role model from the 16th floor of a tower block in Ilford but because of his class it isn't possible for him to even try and replicate his heroes achievements. If Darnell has a poster of AJ on his wall he can aspire to be him and any kid can be a boxer, that's the beauty of the sport, I've got mates who started in their 20's, laced gloves for the first time in their early 20's and they might be turning pro. On the flipside when there was a period of AJ dominating the sport and you find out that he didn't box until later on and very quickly became an Olympic champion it does kind of make it all sound a little easier if you compare it to trying to be a professional footballer. Again, Darnell has more chance of being one of those than an F1 driver.

I know a woman who is in that industry so has worked with loads of celebrities, including on a few well known comedy shows, and she said that James Corden is a horrible pr*ck. But she said that by far the worse person she's ever worked for is Steve Coogan, a genuine nasty piece of work and bully who goes out of his way to makes other peoples life a misery.
