Fury calls on Irish fight fans to back him

    I don't follow fighters purely on their nationality..

    I'd like to see most Irish lads do well, but I won't call myself a fan of all Irish fighters just because their Irish.

    Best of luck to him anyway, seems a decent bloke. Don't think he'll pick up a world strap, hope he proves me wrong.

    Actually he has some British/English ancestry on his mother's side - which isn't really relevant. Tyson identifies himself as being Irish, and with some justification, and that's good enough for me.

    He's said himself all his grandparents are Irish?

    I thought I read he was ethnically three quarters Irish in Boxing News a while back. I could be wrong though. I understand he's related to Hosea Burton - does Burton also hail from a traveller backround?

    Either way i'm not prepared to argue with Fury. It always strikes me as a bit strange when people want to disagree with what a man deems himself to be. And yes, i'm looking at you Manning.

    Yeah he is 3/4 irish and 1/4 Romany I belive .Burton is a Romany Gypsy .
