Parker was awful. I didn't see him land anything clean until Round 12, which was the only round that I think he clearly won.
Parker's not awful, Hughie has an elite defence. After tonight I have absolutely no problem saying his defence is the best in the division.
Good point and it took fifteen rounds of rope a dope to get the desired result, over twelve rounds it's just too risky to employ as you're effectively giving up rounds and banking on the KO late.
well in his time,he had the media and that style on his side..it looked advanced ( and was) however....these guys KNOW they would complain in todays fight game and for one, that style wouldnt work so well today...Vitali Klitchko used that type of style..BUT he was also 6'7........guys today would hit ali and alot. You really need some power to keep guys off you to be a top guy. Pulev even known weak puncher would hit hard in alis era...these are things ppl dont want to study.
Yes which is why we don't like to compare eras and which is why I treat Floyds 49/0 record with a punch of salt,it's a record in boxing but not the record. Ali in his pomp should be remembered for his speed and skill more than anything but I wouldn't wanna see him against a modern day super heavyweight as it would just be unfair.
On all fighters, some punches are called that do not land, that is just the nature of boxing commentating. Fact is that Ali landed at least eighty percent of his punches. It is just simply not true that Ali didn't engage. There is no need to blatantly lie on a fighter. That's called hating. That YOU guys crap, you can miss me with that because I speak for myself.
World class preparation you can how he ran from them New Zealand sheep that were trying to catch him till they tired out so much he could clinch one perfectly on his shoulders just shame his game plan didn't work in the fight.
You would've expected him tear into Parker like a madman from the first bell and give him a brutal beating before sparking him out cold after watching those videos of him training in the Lake District. This content is protected
Fury was a disgrace. He canceled the first fight to get the fight in his home town, he got his personal referee which broke WBO rules, then during the fight he ran like hell...................Parker made the fight, but Parker needs to improve, he needs a new trainer, perhaps Sanchez could teach him to cut off the ring, perhaps Roach, but he needs a trainer! He won, but that's not saying much. Hughie cheating like SOB Ward, only not as bad...............
Also Hughie did say he was going to knock Joe out in the 4th round and then Hughie even pushed Parker in their pre fight face off. So I got the idea Hughie was going into the fight in murder mode but then he comes out, and runs??? ok I admit the footwork was impressive but if you ain't got much pop in your punches, you wont get more power off the back foot. Joe said he would knock out Fury too but at least Joe tried to do that. Hughie made himself out to be the boss bully before the fight but we didnt see that during the fight.
