It's a minimal risk activity fight in preparation for Usyk 3-4 months after (undisputed being arguably the biggest HW fight in 25 years or more). Shane implied that Fury would be sparring southpaws in camp if it was Charr and the same is probably true for Chisora. I strongly suspect that Fury will stop Chisora; partly to pad the KO record, partly to gain a symbolic victory over Usyk. If Fury doesn't KO Chisora (who is less fit and durable than he was in 2014 when Fury made him quit) then he's trolling the audience to a ridiculous degree.
Over 50% of the hardcore complaining about the fight will tune in to watch it illegally. And among the most ardent Fury haters it will be 90%.
The problem is Alt is that Fury beat Chisora rather easily last time so like with the fight with Whyte it's too low risk on a dude who's been beaten many times. You are also basing your assumption that the Usyk fight will occur a few months later. This is a very false assumption. My reasoning is based on past history of Fury bait and switching on multiple occasions therefore your assumption is based on nothing....it's flawed logic.
Fury-Usyk will happen in 2023 (and it could've happened this year). I'd like to think you guys throwing 'Fury finna duck Usyk' innuendo out there will be men enough to issue humble retractions when the fight is inked, but I won't hold my breath for any of you spineless cowards (and you know who you are).
I'm glad it's taking place in Dubai, I might be able to get fight tickets and the view should be decent. No rabid drunks either. A classy arena event.
I hate big fights going to Saudi/UAE, but, if there's an upside, it's the neutrality of the territory.
Yeh, He's choosing chisora so he can come in and destroy him very quickly and efficiently so he looks good to the unknowing, i reckon. He never does that so it will look good to most if he pulls it off that way. But, Imagine if delboy landed some hail mary and KO'd fury though, unlikey i know, but the world is weird as **** these days isnt it lol Always been a fury fan but fighting delboy again this far along is patheticic i gotta say. Pffftt!!
You will bow, @chacal. Jackie DeShannon wrote that "truth is proven to be found harder to take the first time around", and she wasn't just woofin'.
Chisora can catch Fury over the top when he fights orthodox but not when Fury turns southpaw. It will be a real eye test to see if Fury has really improved his power substancially by sitting behind his shots. If Chisora can go the distance Usyk will be happy.
Not really. Chisora's still 'tough', still possesses bags of heart, but his resistance to punches isn't what it was, that's been plain to see in the last year or so. I'd expect Fury to put him on his butt with something he doesn't see this time. I think it's obvious that Fury is hitting harder these days, but this bout shouldn't be taken as a measure of how much harder. Rather, it's a categorically underwhelming display if he doesn't take him out well inside the distance.
I'm leaning the other way. I've read somewhere along the way that Fury and Chisora are friends and there is this old adage in boxing that fighters should help each other out. I see this as Fury helping out a friend by giving him a nice payday for his last fight. Unless Chisora goes off script and actually tries to win I see this as a glorified sparring session. The ref may also have instructions to call the fight off at the first sign of trouble for Chisora. Regardless of how I think the fight will go I don't believe this is a suitable fight for Fury at this point in his career. We shall see what his fans think of it in due time.
