Fury knows exactly how to keep himself relevant in the media throwing hooks out all the time,he does this every now and again and people jump all over it. Fury will fight the winner between Usyk v Joshua I’ve no doubts and maybe even a stay busy fight before the undisputed fight, and then he will retire.

So do I. But if AJ beats Usyk I don't see why he and ReMatchroom shouldn't give Usyk a rematch which is something I've heard zero talk about.

    An astute man has spoken.

You know why, we all do.

On the upside, I expect Usyk to render it a moot point.

Anyone defending Fury has to put everything they have into doing so. His pathetic resume won't stand on its own.

I concur. People still bang on about Cunningham being a good win! Lol that win has aged like milk.

I followed him from day one as well and also spoke briefly to him

An ex work colleague lived in the same area and said he was a really sound guy that liked a pint

For me he either fights Usyk/Aj or stays retired?

Honestly if he fights the unification,I would be happy for him to bow out with Chisora. He could bloody fight John Mcdermott for a 3rd time if he wishes, but we need the big fight next

But what does it achieve, apart from undermining his own credibility?

It keeps forums like this lit up and like I mentioned it keeps him relevant without him actually doing a thing as well as giving the haters something to hate on. He’s not the first boxer to do it and certainly won’t be the last .

People on forums will talk about it, either to say that they don't believe it or to say that it's a ridiculous idea if they believe it to be true but that won't make any difference to Fury one way or the other.

There is no need for him to try to stay relevant.

He's the WBC title holder, he's a major player in the heavyweight division, he's very relevant. He doesn't need to do this, it achieves nothing.

I'm a fan of Tyson Fury but this kind of thing is just annoying. You don't have to be a hater to dislike the contradictory stuff he's been coming out with for months.

"He just needs to do what he did with Meth but add a bit more offensive power."

That's exactly what he did against Whyte. You were concerned that Fury would go in face-first but instead he boxed and moved, not taking a single clean non-rabbit power punch to the head and obliterated Whyte in 6.

Fury's strategy against Wilder in the first rematch was better than his strategy in the first fight. He also looked fantastic at 270 lbs and was able to ragdoll Wilder around up close, while also being nimble enough with his footwork to nullify most of Wilder's offence. Had Fury tried to move for 12 rounds he may well not have KO'd Wilder (who can take a lot of punishment even from an offensive Fury) thus Wilder would have had a lot more time and space to do damage.

It's also good that Fury has rounded out his offensive game since the Meth days. Being a slick master boxer is nice but sometimes it pays dividends to maul and brawl.
