i think its finally starting to dawn on the naive general public that all athletes at elite level are doping/cheating to some degree.

You mean everyone else in cycling started juicing because Lance's entire team was on it since the 90's?

Talking about the Armstrong effect, Peter Fury just called the situation Fury is in with the press and UKAD a "witch hunt". Kind of a variation on the Freudian slip if you ask me.

This is what I suspected was the real cause of the pullout. Furoid is doped up to the eyeballs on gear and knew he needed another excuse. He also objected to VADA testing, why object to stricter testing if you don't have anything to hide?

Except these are requirements of the contract he willingly signed. If he's a clean athlete there should be no problems whatsoever taking pre fight banned substance tests.

Yeah tis the same to refuse is to fail, probably more a reflection on his recreational drug use either way one can't just refuse a test, pulling out all stops on this to avoid testing.

Yeah, I understand that he signed the test.
But i do believe being available for the urine police 24-7 is a lot to ask, whether you're clean or not. It's madness, imo. But that's just my opinion.

ANYWAY, I'm guessing he had no intention to train or fight, so at the time he didn't see the point in taking the test.
I also think he's unlikely to being using PEDs when he has no intention to fight.
People are looking at this backwards.
I doubt he's pulled out of the fight simply because he can't pass the tests (he managed to pass all the tests last year).
I think it's more a case of him sayig f--k off to the test because he'd already decided he doesn't want to fight.

But he didn't pass all the test last year... that's why he has a hearing scheduled for nov 2nd. He failed a test and appealed it much like Tony Thompson used his lawyers to tie it up out of the public eye as long as possible. This is his second failed test. If he didn't already fail one I would find it more plausible but he pulled our over the summer and claimed an ankle injury only to have it come out he was suspended despite his team claiming he wasn't now this. Dude is dirty as fu..

    Maybe.
But it's not as if this guy hasn't always had problems with manic depression, lack of dedication, motivation.
The drugs thing isn't necessarily central to this. In fact, it might just be the straw that broke the camel's back, and there's still a chance the Furys are telling the truth about it all.

Generally I tend to think all athletes are on PEDs anyway.
And I also think there are lots of ways round it. It's easy to take a suspension and fine, and appeal, or even go box in some other jurisdiction.

Maybe people are reading too much into the PEDs thing. Fury is a f--k up in many other ways.

Under WADA, you get two excused absences, on the third instance its a ban.

The PEDs theory doesn't quite explain it all.
If he's dirty then his trainer and PED advisors would be involved too and they'd work out a strategy to pass tests or train without the PEDs, but it looks like the whole Fury camp have been mystified and stunned by his recent behaviour.

It's more likely that he's doing cocaine and recreational drugs if anything.

The fact that Hughie also failed a test at the same time would suggest that the Fury camp is dirty as hell.
