I remember Fury used to sell signed Boxing trunks and other stuff on eBay The advert read buy these signed Future heavyweight champion of the world. If i remember right they were like £20 £30
Took the words clean out of my mouth! Boy it's tough being smart sometimes Good job. 85 inch reach, styles make fights... that style was awkward for Chisora and it took Wlad out of his comfort zone
He beat Chisora purely by outstyling Chisora who wasn't used to 6 ft 9 ..85 inch opponents. Someone like Povetkin made it an obsession to tackle these types of guys. So the Chisora fight doesn't impress me as much as it makes you wet. Tyson skillset is garbage when talking Joshua or Haye or anyone elite.
You cited Fury fans as casuals because his fan base has 'only grown... during his exile'. But in my eyes casuals are non-boxing fans who tune into the 'big fight' on a weekend and fawn over the latest 'big thing' but soon turn their back on a boxer after a loss or their name falls off the radar through inactivity. Fury may well be an utter let down when you consider his talent vs achievement. He may be a bit of a clown. I can buy into either of these POVs, although don't necessarily agree. But the fans who have stuck with him for more than three years - despite the fact he's hardly fought and despite the fact the UK has boxing's biggest star in Joshua - is the polar opposite of 'casual' support. His style is hardly fan-friendly either. Casuals go for KO artists generally, rather than his awkward but skilful style. And his traveller heritage makes him even more niche when it comes to a fan base. Will he draw back some casual support if he beats Wilder? For sure he will. But that's how these things work in boxing...
To be honest there is some truth in that statement whether people like to admit it or not. Fact is, way back when most of these same people were riding David Price's nuts saying he would destroy Fury and was a future heavyweight champ. Fury was seen as a joke by a lot of people in the UK back then. When Price lost, that is when people started jumping ship to Fury. When Fury beat Wlad, that is when his fanbase really grew. Most Fury fans who claim to be fans from day one are not.
You're understanding of these things seems misplaced , delusional even lets just chalk this one up as a wasted conversation and move on.
Like your original post once I scratched away its thin veneer, your replies to me have no substance and lack confidence. And I take issue with you describing such a one-way discourse as a 'conversation'. You have a very casual relationship with the meaning of the word...
Ha ha. Fury has a fantastic gas tank, don't worry about that. I've followed Fury since the beginning you thick. Remember this exchange when he boxes rings around Wilder!
Let's talk sense kiddo , these top guys are phenomenal athletes , you simply can't do what Fury does between fights and then have two years drinking and binging on coke and Burgers putting 9 stone on before losing all that weight with excessive cardio and dieting and maintain the conditioning required for top level sport which by the way is more than just a great gas tank that Fury doesn't hzve.
I personally wouldn't make excuses. Fury is coming into camp in shape for the first time in his career. He's got ten good rounds under his belt v Pianeta. He's good to go from where I'm standing.
