Why didn't Fury use his size and rough Usyk up on the inside? He was never going to outbox Usyk.

I thought he should have jabbed from the outside more, keeping Usyk at range. Usyk had to get inside to land, and Fury let him get inside far too often.

You come forward trying to rough up, Usyk steps back and smacks you in the face.

Footwork is everything in boxing. Fury is not a puncher and he not going to underestimate the damage Usyk can do himself. It's a FOOLS GAME.

The gameplan was good. It was just not executed to perfection and his conditioning from being out of shape so often caught up to him.

Agit Kabayel is the man you want if you're going to get in close and rip Usyk's body apart.

He fought to a good gameplan
Imo he should have jumped on him more when he had him hurt, but easier said than done when you are eating counters

Fury fought very well, just not well enough

He didn't rough him up because dirty fighting is illegal and he didn't want points taken off in a fight where fine margins matter

I don't think there's a way he can beat Usyk. He landed several heavy blows on that 'glass body'. It didn't work. He bullied the smaller man, fought a big man's fight. It didn't work because Usyk was able to adapt on the spot. This is something very, very unique and rare to see. After round 4, 5, 6 which were clear Fury rounds and it seemed he is breaking Usyk down and he might even stop him, Usyk adapted and took over once again. It's just mental how he did that while being dominated by a guy outweighing him by 40 lbs. Usyk is something else, up there with the greatest who ever stepped in the ring.

Usyk power is so underrated. Why Joshua didn’t just rush him and why Fury was hesitant to throw more. Rnd 9 showed Usyk’s underrated power when he lands. People tend to just see this smaller heavy weight who uses his feet to outbox you.

Trust and believe Tyson tried to use his size Usyk just made a great adjustment in round 8. That’s what great fighters do which is elevate to a higher level.

Yep, he fought a good fight up until the 8th when Usyk adapted and caught Fury, completely changed the course of the bout.Every credit to Usyk on being able to raise his game when he needed to, especially if he had a broken jaw!?

I agree and was thinking that during the fight. Not sure why Fury chose to box with Usyk.

Should have mauled him from round 1.

Im afraid in the rematch Fury will come to maul like he did in Wilder 2, focusing on that and the body from round 1.

Boxing from the outside and backing up plays to Usyks strengths.

To be fair, credit to Fury he was boxing him.much better than expected and even schooling Usyk in the middle rounds. After round 8 and toeing he should have switched to some wlad tactics though by clinching. He was tired and couldnt press as much as he did. I also feel he was clowning around too much.

Fury outweighed Usyk by 40 pounds. His gameplan should have been to bully Usyk on the inside.

To be fair i was thinking the same. Kabayel may very well stop this old Usyk.
Usyk 2-3 years ago no chance, but this one yeah.
And yeah people finally started to understand that you can't just jump and hold on Usyk and use yor size. He ain't going to let you. I told you this years ago when you was crying how AJ doesn't know how to use his size.
    You finally start learning.

They all choose the wrong game plan for Usyk but he always chooses the right one

People do realize that Usyk can fight off the backfoot as well as anyone and if you try and walk him down you'll walk into big counters, right? He can stand right in front of these giants and make them miss with the vast majority of their shots, he'll make them look like Frankenstein's monster if he boxes them on the backfoot forcing them to lead, which I wish he did do more

    Before the fight

Less than 48 hours before it in fact

“I know what I’m doing. I know exactly what I’m doing. I know what I’m gonna do. I know...Knockout, Kronk style. When I watch things, I like Emanuel Stewart’s mindset. Obviously you’ve got to do your As and Bs and Cs but is you follow them they’ll lead to you to KO — and that’s what we’re here to do, put on a spectacular show, people want to see knockouts and that’s what we’ve got to deliver for the fans.”

    Before the rematch

''And Joshua has admitted he cannot enter the rematch using an overly-aggressive approach otherwise he will come unstuck for a second time. “We might have to box, that’s what he (Garcia) said," Joshua revealed during an interview with JD in a teaser of their upcoming ‘Road to Redemption’ video. “It depends what Usyk brings as well. “It’s like trying to swat a fly. You know, because I’m the bigger man, I’m gonna’ go in there and just swat this fly and it is going to die.

"But you know how difficult it is to swat a fly because it moves around a lot and how energy-draining that is. I can’t just now come in and start boxing like Mike Tyson - it’s just not me - I have got to be the best me.''
