When something is forbidden by the rules, it's illegal simple as that. Divas that try to excuse it for Fury are pathetic biased blinded fanboy, that are just a fangirls and doesn't give a **** about the sport and being fair, as it should be.

The rules should be obeyed and every foul should be called.
Using clinches/holding/leaning as a tactics is illegal and should be punished straight away.
No more than 2-3 clinches per round should be allowed, unless the both guys are happy with the clinches and initiate them.
It's a problem when Fighter 1 clearly shows he is not happy with them, and when a fighter 2 clearly used them as tactics.
This ain't wrestling. Same as pushing someone, as Fury very often does, and the situation with Cunningham, there was 2 big pushes with both hands, then headlock with elbow/forearm and KO that was 100% illegal and Fury should have been DQ for it.
Anyone saying otherwise is complete fangirl of Fury that doesn't see further than his biased nose.

Same as Low blows, they should be called straight away, warning, second, point deduction second deduction > DQ.
Same for rabbit punches that are clearly targeted.

Again UFC for example it's closest to a fight without rules, but it has strong rules where someone decide to bent them or violate them.
Same for fingering to the eyes, low blows, shots behind the head, knee when the opponent arms are on the ground and so on.
We see plenty of KO results in DQ, as it should be because some of the rules were violated.

To have that you need strong governing body, and not a bunch of corrupt imbeciles that care only about money, and pushing all the tied to the A guy. No even ground whatsoever.

Boxing should change or slowly will die, or be pushed away big time.
Clinches and all the dirty tricks just make the game uglier and it's killing it.

And you cannot excuse a fighter for being dirty, ah because someone X years ago was doing the same. This ain't how life works. Just like you can't excuse you murdering someone with someone else murdering Y guy.
