Forget the Middle East site fees, how much is Fury vs Zhang worth now in China?

Must be the richest fight in boxing

You would think, if promoted well and the Chinese public really buy into it potentially with the size of the market it could one of the biggest money generating fights ever.

Not sure it happens, like most I've lost a bit of faith with big heavyweight match ups getting made but it's certainly one of the few I'd pay ppv for if they could

Thw issue is getting the Chinese public interested. Combat sports are just not that popular in China.

Not worth anything as Fury wouldnt fight him.

Not to mention the fact that Zhang lives in America and has only fought in China 4 times for a reason.

He clearly thought Wilder’s basic fundamentals in boxing were so bad that it would be comfortable for Fury. The first fight you can argue was very brave. A fighter as talented and cerebral as Fury was always going to make the adjustments to win comfortably in a rematch with better fitness under his belt.

Are you suggesting he doesn’t want to fight Usyk for other reasons? For me it’s quite clearly because he knows how tough that fight will be.

I wonder if they see him as a proper superstar over there or more like Big Marty Rogan where he was doing decent numbers in Belfast for his actual level?

He isn’t afraid. He is risk/reward though. Why fight a challenge when you can feed off bums and non boxers

How the actual **** would a pair of wins lead to Fury surpassing Lewis? Lewis has wins over far better opposition in the likes of Holyfield, Vitali Klitschko and yes, it's for some reason controversial (Lewis literally broke his face but, whatever), David Tua, Andrew Golota, Ray Mercer, Tommy Morrison, Razor Ruddock, Mike (old as eff) Tyson and avenged both losses, one of which was about as definitive as it gets and how do you think Lewis would have handled Fury's resume?

Fury has a win against an aging, disinterested VK and wins over Wilder who back in the 90's would have been another Michael Grant.

Zhangs a big handful fury, AJ no one's gonna want to go near him unless they have to. Was reading boxing news and they made the point Joyce v Zhang was the only heavyweight bout this year between two fighters in the top ten, just sums it up really

And there is an actual reason for this. They want to believe that their Kung Fu and Tai Chi masters can beat anybody with fantasy martial arts. I saw a documentary where there was a journalist/MMA enthusiast who went around China beating all the traditional masters. The Chinese government kept backing the traditionalists, and made the journalist dress as a clown. Finally, he was about to knock out one of the greatest Kung Fu masters in round 1, and they found some excuse to stop the fight and declare it a draw.

Not that Kung Fu pe se is a fantasy, but the we all know that the way it is practiced by most has a fantasy, mystical element.
