100% that’s the money fight, but Fury calling out AJ at this point makes no sense. He’s risking an undisputed opportunity. AJ vs Fury will always be a money fight with or without belts. He should fight Usyk first
I think this is more of a salt in the wound. AJ and Hearn plans are to rebuild with an easy top 15 opponent in December, then Whyte, Wilder and then Fury/title challenge. But that is great move for Fury, cause he had the cards now and calling the shots. AJ is after 2 back to back loses and his confidence will not be all time high. There is no better moment for Fury to take thw fight. Also if AJ says NO that will be seen as a duck. And that doesn't mean Fury won't fight Usyk. He just want to fight in December. Very smart move by Fury. Let's see what Hearn has to say about that.
Yea it’s true. It would be huge in the UK. And to be honest it would be a bout between the 2 most well known heavyweight “champs” to casual fans. Usyk needed to knock out AJ for him to become more of a household name.
Nothing he says is true. He’s probably gonna say the fight is in the works and we’ll just end up getting the Chisora trilogy
Calling out the two-time loser to Usyk might be more $$$ lucrative, but not as good for his legacy as a bout with Usyk for undisputed.
Fury is asking to fight someone in December Usyk says not AJ is a decent opponent as fans we should want these fights not ask for more delays lol
As long as he fights Usyk next year I see no problem with this fight, Usyk has stated he wanted a little break so Fury vs Joshua is still good fight. It's the 2nd best fight he could have right now. And it would be a blockbuster of a fight in the UK, and as I said in the other thread. I still think style wise that Joshua could give Fury a more interesting fight than people think. If Fury beats Joshua, Usyk, combined with his other wins. He really would of beat the best of his era, and you couldn't really have any complaints TBH. A win over Joshua would be a nice filler to Fury's resume which is still a bit lacking to me.
I doubt he risks anything with this overrated balloon AJ. He'll beat him worse than Usyk did. The point is that AJ will not accept a fight against Fury within the next few months... and centuries and the Fury haters will start twisting as "yeah, Fury challenged AJ because he knew Joshua won't accept"... Well, Usyk challenged Fury, but didn't accept a date so far, just the undefined future of 2023".
I feel like Fury's trying to give AJ one last chance to stamp his ticket to Canastota while also giving himself the biggest money fight possible. There ain't no way this won't sell out Wembley Stadium within minutes.
He knows Joshua won't be allowed to accept, even if he wanted to. And Fury only wants to chuck that steak on the BBQ now it's been tenderised by Usyk. Cheap publicity stunt. Not interested...
