Counterpunch Boxing News has a vid discussing the fact that Fury is in talks with Ruiz on a potential match-up between the two fighters, does Ruiz deserve a title shot? This content is protected
Is there anything stopping the WBC telling Whyte to do one and making Andy the mandatory? Mandy Andy has a ring to it...
Whyte's lawsuit against the WBC that led to him finally being mandated as the mandatory is probably the most likely reason that won't happen. At this point it's all posturing from both sides. Fury threatens to vacate and fight someone else if Whyte doesn't drop his purse demands, Whyte holds firm on his demands saying he'll let it go to purse bids which he probably thinks he can win but will also result in him likely taking a smaller split than he's demanding. Right now I'd take anything from either camp with a load of skepticism.
Right now Joshua has the better resume but when Fury beats Ruiz his resume will surpass Joshua's 100%. Fury will show the world how you're supposed to handle a useless plodding fat piece of sh*t like Ruiz unlike the quitjob Joshua performed. Fury will school him, toy with him, and beat him down. He'll totally dominate the same guy that humiliated Joshua. Must be tuff for matchroom
Does Ruiz deserve a title shot? Not after one win against low level opposition in Arreola. However it's not beating Jason Gavern and getting a title shot bad. As an opponent Ruiz is clearly a top 10 guy and Ruiz vs Fury would make for a decent fight. The fight wouldn't be for WBC just the Ring belt which doesn't count as much. Obviously Whyte is the guy in the HW divison most deserving of a title shot. After that I would say Parker and Joyce are the next most deserving of shot.
Whyte is on a 1 fight winning streak and hasn't fought since March, and was KO'd two fights ago. I don't think he's any more deserving than Parker or Ruiz.
Obviously when you are fighting dangerous opponent you are going to nick loses, its how things work. If you are facing dog***** opponents you may drag your 0 for longer, but that doesn't mean a *****. You are biased as hell. Who exactly Fury has beaten to become mandatory ? Same for Wilder? Whyte has fight AJ, beat Chisora twice, beat Helenius, beat Browne, beat Parker, beat Rivas, and also won the imbecile rematch with Povetkin. Whyte is number 1 in WBC for the likes of last 4-5 years or so. There is no one more deserving than him to fight for the WBC belt. And mark my words Fury won't fight Ruiz or any dangerous opponent if the corrupt WBC allow him to skip Whyte. He will fight a complete nobody that is telegraphic for him.
Whyte avenge the loss his resume of wins over Povetkin, Parker, Rivas, Chisora x 2 and Helenius is best resume of wins in the divison for non champion with the exception AJ.
Fury will want this as pudding is the easiest name before he tries getting the fight with AJ. This rumour has been doing the rounds the last week or so. I've been saying this would happen for a while as it's the path of least resistance for Fury.
Why do you namedrop 'Chisora' as a 'name fighter' that Whyte has beaten twice and yet totally ignore the fact that Fury has also done it twice, the second time being a no contest....
If Fury wants to continue to try and grow his brand in the USA then Ruiz Jr is the best option. Stylistically a walk over, but you can't walk at Ruiz, back to slick boxing. You just know this fight won't happen though. Fury probably won't even fight this summer.
