The whole thing is so frustrating isn’t it. I always liked Fury because he was a refreshing contrast to Joshua. Far from media polished, spoke his mind and one in the eye for the corporate friendly chosen one. I always got the impression Joshua wasn’t a particularly good guy, and benefitted from excellent PR. Look how easily he shook the Eddie Chambers thing - only a few people know about that thanks to excellent PR to sweep it conveniently under the carpet. I always felt Fury was the best HW. He had X-factor and heart. Just a bit more special than Joshua. Fury’s success post-comeback and Joshua’s downfall also vindicated what many of us had been saying on here for years. Joshua caught the attention of casuals because of excellent marketing, being well matched and his style. It was clear to me who was the better of the two. In the end, it’s been Fury’s ego that’s been his downfall. He wanted the same or better terms than Joshua - incidentally someone he claims he doesn’t care about - and this has stopped a unique opportunity for unification from happening. I also really like Usyk, but for different reasons. It seemed gauche and classless for Fury to attack such a gentlemanly fighter in such pathetic and personal ways. Just juvenile - save it for people like Wilder. What a shame. Even if Fury lost to Usyk, the Joshua fight is always there and will always generate huge money. His ego has cost him millions.
He is reaching so badly with the emails. I wish i could be sympathetic towards him, but Frank has completely let himself down here. I see him having a legal dispute down the line before the big man quits.
Frank loves a legal dispute and a dissolution of the company if he loses. He's even refused to pay his own lawyers before and had a farcical legal dispute over it. I think it was a High Court judge who called him thoroughly dishonest.
It’s thanks to Warren that Hearn is considered the gold standard when it comes to promoters purely because he always pays his fighters in full and on time, something you assume would be standard practice.
This is the reason Fury beating Wilder was bad for boxing. Fury is bad for boxing! This is why Wlad hates him, Wilder hates him, Usyk now hates him and AJ can't do a deal with him. Doing business with him is doing business with a scumbag. Wlad and Wilder got stuck in it with him. You only see it now because you like Usyk, you liked him being a ***** to Wilder for some reason. Wilder, AJ and Usyk are all stand up honest guys.
This nonsense, the Conor stuff, it's enough to make anyone want to give up on this 'sport' It's all very dull. Personally, I will watch Fury fight if it's a worthy opponent, but I won't listen to a thing he says in an interview or on social media again.
He's dragged out his wife being pregnant with their 13th child as a smokescreen, we'll have another mental health episode to follow shortly and then another retirement before announcing that he wants to fight Usyk, Joyce, Joshua and Wilder in the same year and then retire with a legacy, then fighting Charr in a "tune up" before messing around again.
This isn’t a good look for Fury. I don’t believe for one second he holds any fear whatsoever for a little midget cruiserweight or any other man born from his mother. He ate GOAT hellfire from Wilder three times, the man has no fear. But this seems a duck from the giant switcher, no other way to interpret it. I think they still get this fight made maybe a year from now after USKY has faced Joyce/Dubois if not both. BT have the heavies who bring ppv right now. No one wants to see USKY toy with Joshua again. If fury retires without fighting USKY this affects his legacy big time. History will remember him as the guy who ducked the cruiserweight for undisputed. However true that is. What if Dubois somehow KOs USKY? Not impossible if unlikely. Does the duck age like a fine wine then? If fury fights USKY later this year but not for the four belts I don’t see that as a massive problem legacy wise, history is littered with big fights happening later than they could have. It’s entirely possible USKY gets beaten before he fights fury (I make Wilder and Joyce favourites against a 36/7 year old cruiser with no pop who relies on speed and reflexes) If USKY stays unbeaten and beats a Joyce or a Wilder the clamour for the Fury fight will be louder than ever. The fight would be bigger then than it is now for four belts I believe. USKY would have a legit claim to be the MAN at heavy and Fury would have NOWHERE TO HIDE. Fury would be up for that version of USKY. Right now he’s ducking a cruiser who struggled with Dereck Chisora. Fury toying with obese Andy Ruiz puts USKYs heavyweight resume under even more scrutiny since then his best win is either (a) the guy fury beat three times or (b) the guy who is 1-1 with the guy fury toyed with. Lose lose for the USKY resume and Fury can still legit call himself the MAN at heavy. So I see them making the Ruiz fight for Fury next. Get wilder and USKY ringside, you just KNOW Joyce and Dubois will be in the house and PAPA ZHANG will be along for the ride. Chuck in BIG BABY MILKER and you’ve got an eight man royal rumble brewing.
