The next massive heavyweight fight is just going in the slow cooker for a year. There's a very big chance we will have two fights in 2020 involving 2 of the big three, likely Wilder / Fury 2, winner vs AJ. For fights of that magnitude, promoters know the loser will lose some value so they will take an income in the run up - each will fight 2 - 3 low risk guys first, bank a few million a time for all involved, then comes the cash out.

    It's how its always worked.

Joshua would have been castigated if he had fought Hammer or Chisora.he has beaten 4 top ten contenders and is fighting a 5th soon. How many ranked fighters has Fury fought?

I genuinely feel like i’m one of a very few who seems to like both Fury and Joshua. It seems that if you support one you have to slag the other off. We’ve been lucky if we’ve had one decent British heavyweight contender to get behind...now we’ve arguably got 3 (possibly more).

Love Fury, respect Joshua. It's not important which one you like, or indeed if you like both, or even dislike both. But I believe it's important to respect both, because they're probably the two best heavyweights in the game and have been for years. Hating on either is embarrassing and says a lot about a person.

Yeah, agreed. I definitely enjoy Fury more but I wouldn’t miss a Joshua fight either. His devastating finishing can actually deflect away from all the skill he’s applied building up to the knockout. The Povetkin fight being the perfect example...spending several rounds setting traps. Fury’s skill at his best is right up there with Ward/Mayweather standard imo.

Chisora was a decent (non-world-title) opponent both times Fury faced him.
The first time he was a undefeated British champion equivalent at least to Dillian Whyte of 2015.
The second time he was on a decent winning run and considered a legit contender.
The first fight was free on Channel 5. The second was part of a £12 month subscription channel BoxNation.

People castigate Joshua for facing the likes of Molina and Breazeale (who are Hammer/Chisoa level) on £19.95 PPV maybe, in WORLD TITLE fights.
    That's the difference.

Comparing him with Mayweather skill wise just seems farcically overstated if you ask me. You can respect the guy without coming out with that sort of thing.

Would Mayweather have been down like he was against a guy like Wilder? Would he have been floored so easily by Pajkic and Cunningham? Floyd beat guys like Canelo, Pacquaio, Cotto, Mosley and so on by miles. Fury got a close win against Klitschko and after that, his best win is a decent performance against Chisora.

I said ‘at his best’ mate. I would genuinely compare their skill set, absolutely. There’s about a foot and 8 stone between them but both have elite skills at defusing/nullifying attacks and throwing nice counters. Don’t forget, getting punched by a 18 stone bloke is a lot worse than getting punched by a 10 stone bloke so knockdowns a more likely at heavyweight.

I thought I was the only one mate. I'm a big fan of both Joshua and Fury, and I must be a lunatic because I like Whyte and Wilder as well..

They all have their good point and bad points, and I don't mind giving any of them stick where they deserve it. The main thing is the 'big 3' fighting each other ASAP. Everything else is 'hot air'.

Pulev would give all of the top three some tough rounds. AJ would stop him in the same style of the Povetkin fight - he would make the necessary adjustments and eventually bulldoze him. Fury would win a dull UD but could find himself losing 2-3 rounds in the process. Wilder I can see having the most trouble, losing rounds but finding the big shot late on to scramble a gassing Pulev. It could be an Ortiz fight all over again.

As for actual lined up opponents. Joshua is facing the best of the three but blows Miller out early in brutal fashion. Fury might overwhelm and stop Schwarz but most likely outpoints him. My gut feeling is that Wilder will also light up slow motion Dominic B pretty quick.

However, I do believe that AJ and Wilder will sign to unify this year

    I like them both.
Both are a credit to British boxing.

    Lol what?

The same Fury who boxed Wlad in Germany who hadn't lost in like 10 years?
The same Fury who boxed Wilder in USA after few years out & some tune ups, when most thought he'd lose.. Meanwhile Joshua / Hearn couldn't get this fight sorted..
The same Fury who got up from a Wilder shot to fight back rather than box round and see the final bell..

Chisora had beaten nobody when he first faced Fury, second time around he had found his level having stepped up3 times and been beaten 3 times.
Chisora has never beaten a ranked contender neither has Fury ,what Tyson has done is faced two champions.
Joshua was having his 17th fight when he met Breazeale, and his18th when he faced Molina.
    That's the difference!
