You seem to think that 2012 Fury will be the same as 2009 Fury just 3 years older. Last night was the first time he had been longer than 4 rounds, by the end of the fight he was just throwing arm punches and was clearly tired. I wouldn't have expected anything else. His camp probably thought he would get Mcdermott out early but they didn't. Once his fitness level is high enough to go 10-12 rounds without tiring as badly then that in itself would make a big difference to him. His jab was woeful last night and couldn't keep Mcdermott off him. I have no doubt that will improve and he'll be able to make better use of his size and handspeed. Even though I'm not a fan of Amir Khan you just need to look at him to see how quickly a young fighters defense can improve with the right training. The fact that there are such obvious improvements he can make shows he is nowhere near fulfilling his potential yet.

But below is the final round... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdiY57OQYak
I am a little disappointed. Because Fury was such an obvious candidate to seeing a fighter getting a really severe reality check! I had hoped he could keep winning and build up his self confidence even more, and then get in the ring with a Klitscho or someone... and be knocked all the way to the 10th row in round one. It would have been hilarious seeing him explain what happened. Now he may loose some of his outlandish self confidence - which spoil the fun for the rest of us. PS. I am still praying for a Toney - Vitaly fight. For the same reason. Toney can look as bad as possible and loose, but he doesn't seem to have the brain capacity to really fathom what that means - so he is still a funny reality check candidate.
Because apparently they could not guarantee a Fury win. So they had to just go with Fury's father-in-law to ref the fight. Thankfully Fury pulled off this glorious win.
95-95 Draw! Fury never got embaressed, He did well considering he had only 7 pro fights and fought only in 4 rounders up till this point, McDermott has improved his stamina as well, I thought he'd gas after 3/4 rounds himself. Good Fight
I havent watched the whole fight yet but what has struck me is the unbelievable bias from jim watt in favour of mcdermott
Alternatively it might be because they didn't change the system that's stood for decades just because a few more people than normal were watching the fight.
Fury has always sucked, even in the fights he dominated, he sucked. He was never going to be anything, and never will. I think a guy like Williams or Rogan would **** Fury up.
My sentiments exactly, watched it in the pub last night without any sound, and my god even i had Mcdermott up by 3 rounds, ref was drunk.
Mc Flurry can have a fight was suprised when they hooked tyson up for this fight. lets be honest Mc flurry should of won against danny williams and was robbed of that decision fel abit sorry for the guy.... I think conering Fury has had only a handfull of fights he done alright just needs a decent trainer and get his arse down the gym to do some weights sort that **** physic out. He might have a chance then.
