Some of us told you never mind the retirement talk. It all depends on how he feels when he wakes up in the morning, and today, he is talking about fighting until he is 40. Yes, we are going to see him fight Joshua, Whyte, Ruiz, Usyk, the winner of Joyce-Dubois, and anyone else who wants to step up.

People forget that before he was talking about retiring, he was talking about breaking Joe Louis' record. It all depends on the mood.

A heavy about 6'5 only reaches his prime physical at 30-32. He is 6'9". He may not really get there until he is 35 or so. A lot of his new-found power comes from the fact that he is finally filling out.

    Nine more years, please.

“I’m going to fight on until I’m 40 years old. I’ve been thinking about it, and there isn’t much else to do anyways. So yeah, I may as well keep fighting.

“I don’t see anyone out there that can challenge me anyway. I just flattened the best one out there, the toughest opponent out there is Deontay Wilder, and we all saw what happened to him the last time out.”

    We are truly blessed

A born and bred fighting man

Given it takes HW's years to mature and develop nobody is going to catch him off guard and beat him.

When he is 40 there might be a young gunner who can put up challenge.

I dont see he sees old bones as a HW. But that is because he loses focus and discipline easily than most professional athletes.

If he was to hypothetically have the discipline and focus to fight as long as he could, then he would start going on the slide from his 35 years old. The previous years of drink and drugs always catch up with you in professional sports, and shorten your career.

Even HWs who live the life, fall off a cliff in performance at aged 38+

Look at what happened to Wlad as a great recent example.

He'll be fine. He got into drugs, but he beat it before he was 30 years old. Taking off lots of weight breaks down you muscles, but he has built them back up again, and at 6'9", he wasn't as overweight as made out (yeah, he was overweight, but not as much as made out).

    He'll be around for years.

    Don't believe it, just watch

He says it now but he may change his mind next time he does an interview
He may then claim he is retiring after one more fight; who knows

it’s always up in the air with someone as wishy-washy as he seems to be

But he is right; there is no one who can challenge him right now——- with possibly exception of Joshua ——-but I still pick Fury over Joshua by a good margin

Coincidentally, 40 is also the number of tomato cans Fury's 2 x surrogate son has beaten.

Good, if Fury stays active it will be good for boxing and him.

I can see Fury retiring at 55-0.

    He is unstoppable.

OOOPS! My apologies! I inadvertently walked in to a Tyson Fury sack sucking conference! Forget I was ever here! Carry on!

    Butthurt Wilder girl.

Your boy ought to just retire. He has no chance of being in the picture for the next nine years.

Agreed! If he isn't going to work to better learn the craft and not listen to his trainer, then yes, he should quit the sport . I don't have the time or patience to watch some one armed, windmilling fighter not willing to better himself.

I’d love him to do that and also retire undefeated

We've seen what an older Fury will bring in the ring now also

More subtle footwork, less lateral movement but a big big jab, big weight and big overhand rights.

Plenty to beat bodybuilders who gas out after 6 rounds.
