I don't think that works, any more than defending Wilders patchy record by citing the Ortiz win convinces. Taking one performance and using it as the answer to any questions about a resume just highlights the lack of any supporting evidence in the rest of the record. You judge a fighter on the body of their work not one signature win.
Hmmm, I know Fury is feeling fit and class is permanent etc etc but there's such a thing as 'match sharp' which I just can't see Fury being on Dec 1st. I think Wilder will clip him and finish Fury in a relatively shock win. Got my neck out for this one. I should add that I do not believe Wilder to be the superior fighter.
but that was his first signature fight. And Ortiz wasn't a unified champ for a decade. But my point was, you can't just take wins off someones resume to make a point
If you truly believe this then you need the men in the white coats to take you away. Fury looked ordinary against a completely shot Pianeta. He's got flashes of his old movement, yes. But That's not enough at the highest level and snail-slow Pianeta was able to land on him. Fury's punches are softer than I've ever seen them and he never was a puncher. So he's got nothing to scare Wilder off with. He needs at least 2 more tune ups. Wilder will likely finish him in the first 3 rounds.
His punching technique is terrible. There's more to boxing skill than dancing around flicking out a jab.
No, it's the biggest fight apart from AJ ... BTW Wilder wins by KO at some point, it was always a difficult stylistic match-up for Fury and this version of Fury is not focussed enough to avoid him for 12 rounds.
