Bet fury will fight ustinov after hes beat klitacko....deal possibly already done...ustinov is a frank w fighter
Is there any source for this news? I can see the fight being postponed due to the traditional late Dr Stooleater muscle fibre injury and the fight moved to Germany.
He gets a lot of stick (and rightly so) but this would have sold out the MEN easily had Hearn been promoting it. He's a good salesman. To sell out the MEN you need buy in from casuals, ****** doesn't get that at all.
It is not selling out mainly because of the ticket prices and the fact that it is hidden away on Butt Nation - the channel nobody cares about. Seats in Tier One usually costing £100 per ticket are priced at £500. That is why there is little interest in the fight.
Even the Touts I know cannot shift tickets - could be a very poor crowd on the night unless the touts sell outside for 40% of face value. There were well over 20,000 worthless pieces of paper (tickets) outside with the Touts when the Froch v Groves fight was on. (80,000 tickets sold and only 55,000 people in the stadium watching the fight)
I'm sure there were a lot of unsold tickets with touts but there were definitely more than 55,000 in the stadium that night. I've been to England games that have had crowds of 60k and there were less empty seats at Froch v Groves 2, and a couple of thousand on the pitch.
It's one thing to overprice the tickets. Those prices are ridiculous. But combine that with a complete lack of effort on the part of the promoters is a recipe for failure. Whatever people say about Fury and his lack of a loyal fanbase, this fight should be able to sell. Fury draws attention therefore he ought to be able to draw a crowd. And Klitschko is a big enough name surely. The problem is the promoters. I don't know exactly what Hennessey does apart from loyalty.
The undercard is abysmal, the ticket prices are shocking and the main event will be a pile of ****. As cards go, this has nothing going for it.
Correct but he has no pull with casual punters these days thanks to Eddie's deal with Sky. No casual could tell you who Terry Flanagan is, and he's Frank's biggest star.
Yeah it's not good. This fight is potentially a huge chance for him and Boxnation to get connected with the casuals but there doesn't seem to be much promotion going on. This should be advertised everywhere. Maybe they are waiting until next week. Or quite likely they have no budget left.
