Only Fury haters don't support his move here. He won the belt and was robbed so why should he do a rematch in a challenger position in the place he was robbed. That would be a weak move, actually, and stupid too. Golovkin didn't learn his lesson the first time, either did Kovalev. Fury did. I really thought he was going to be stupid for a moment. If the fight was in England it still wouldn't be a duck because he doesn't owe Wilder anything and can take his time to get back to full flight, also he'd still be a challenger when he shouldn't be. But if he walked away from the UK fight 'avoiding' talk would be more understandable.
He made sure in a high profile fight, great call..Some wave it off to early, here is an example of why you have to give them a chance, because 10 seconds later he was driving Wilder back !
If Tyson Fury lost consciousness, the fight should’ve been stopped regardless. I wasn’t in the ring to see it, but it looked like that might’ve happened.
Did a lot of Wilders fans think he would stop Fury earlier than in the late rouns though before the bout? Did they think their would be a chance of Fury getting a draw before the bout also though?
Not sure how you come up with these examples. That fight was 35 years ago and New York is one of the strictest states today. It was a lenient call.
Fury knows full well that had he taken the rematch, there would have been a real possibility that he'd end up convulsing on the ground. What Fury has already witnessed through his minds eye was enough to shake and striker the fear of God through his soul. There would have been only one outcome - his arms, legs, and shoulders shaking uncontrollably with his head twitching,, mouth foaming with saliva, until the medics pull a white sheet over him and stretcher him out of the arena. Meanwhile the announcers are left with no choice but to issue an apology and offer consoling words to the audience and cite how all are prayers and thoughts are with Fury before the event to an early close. Had Fury admitted his fears, I would respect him a lot more rather than him coming out with weak water thin see through plastic pound land bag lies that will only fool inbreds
I have not watched the fight a 2nd time, but my perception watching live was that Fury won the remainder of the round after getting up. Why are people saying it should have been stopped? Yeah he took a bad kd, but didn't show signs of being hurt after getting up, and Wilder was the one who actually looked more shook at the bell. Am I off base?
Yes you are off base It should have been stopped because he was unresponsive for over 5 seconds and Jack Reiss has previously waved fights off when other fighters have stood up at 9. He also gave Fury an additional recovery period of 10 seconds to walk around the ring, when the rules states that after the ref has ceased his count and decided the fighter is fit to continue, then the action should be resumed immediately, The referee did not adhere to the rules, hence why people are rightly stating Wilder was the one robbed of a KO stoppage.
