Not surprised. This is the biggest fight of his life and career, he ought to come in shape or he's roasted both in and out of the ring.
He seems to be in best shape of his life. I just can't understand why they keep doing deadlift/squat in weight training. He should concentrate more on arms/shoulders area. His strength there is ridiculously low. Midsection looks very good.
Deadlifts and squats are instrumental in tall boxer's training. The strain on the lower back from constantly maintaining balance and pivoting is tremendous, without a well developed back a boxer wouldn't be effective. Chest and arms get plenty of development from bodyweight exercises and from boxing itself - the weights simply make you look better. A bigger bicep != stronger punch.
He is doing both. They signed Firtha as an opponent for Hughie about a month ago on the Fury Klitschko undercard in Dusseldorf. They are still looking for an opponent fpr next week.
Fury looks is fantastic condition compared to how we've seen him in the past. I would love to see him beat Klitschko, I do think it's a very difficult ask in Germany, Wladimir seems a different fighter in Germany. Jennings walked through everything he had in the US but back in Germany fighters can't cope with his strength :think
That's OK but nothing special for a male. He has the bones. Somehow his stomach is flat but other than that is quite average for a male. I have to admit that I am not impressed but he looks improved. I have to give him that. I wonder why the pictures' quality is so low. That might give you a wrong idea of the real condition.
That's bull**** and shows that you don't have a clue about how boxers train. Squat is a basic movement any athlete uses, deadlift also, but the focus should be in excercices that prepare your body for executing the sweet science. When I see a boxer with huge thigs with no shoulders/arms I know his weight training has been totally incorrect for a boxer, and amateurishly guided.
