    In a startling and controversial statement, Tyson Fury, the current world heavyweight champion, has sparked a wave of outrage by dismissing the greatness of Muhammad Ali, one of the most iconic figures in boxing history. During a recent interview, Fury claimed that Ali is "extremely overrated" and that "wouldn't compare himself to modern boxers."
    "Ali was great in his time, but that time is over," Fury declared with blatant disdain. "Nowadays, with advances in training and nutrition, a boxer like him wouldn't be so dominant." "Facing me or any current champion would be too much for him."
    Reactions were not made to wait. Ali fans and boxing critics have expressed outrage on social media, calling Fury's statements "disrespectful" and "disrespectful." Some have even called for Fury to step down and publicly apologize for his words.
    This isn't the first time Tyson Fury has been at the centre of controversy for his provocative comments. However, in messing with the legend of Ali, he seems to have crossed a line that has left many questioning his respect for the history of the sport he himself represents.

    He’s not serious.

    I don’t believe that he really thinks this.

    Also, Floyd Mayweather used to put out similar statements just prior to a big fight coming up.

    1910's boxers can't compete with 1960's boxer
    1960's boxers can't compete with modern boxers

    What's Ali going to do, beat Fury with his 1,2 and clinching? Headhunting? no bodyshots?

    Won't be long before we get a legit 6'9" 300 pound gorilla of a man in his mid 20's who just destroys all the men put in front of him, in till they find a tough a nails dude with skills to box him up...or 350 pound Fury decides to come out of retirement to try and jib jab him to a decision.

    A 6' 3" middleweight whooped Fury. Ali was 6' 3". Fast accurate and tough. With a high ring IQ. Yeah, I think at minimum, Ali would be able to compete today. Oh, and that 6' 3" middleweight is the best HW in the world.

    Usyk throws every punch in the book and can set a solid pace for 12 rounds. Ali never set a great pace. Never threw a bodypunch in his life. Once his legs slowed his defence was getting punched in the dome or clinching.
