That's not exactly a high standard to meet when you consider Wilder has defended against Molina and Duhaupas. I mean Pianeta who was just KO'ed on 1 by an old Chagaev would be Wilder's best opponent for a title defence. Glazkov is a fraud though, he should have lost to Scott and Cunningham and he also had a debatable win over Rossy. He's no where near as good as his record suggests, the fact he barely beat, if at all, a journeymen like Rossy who lost more convincingly to a very overweight Stiverne tells you how good Glazkov really is.
Also, before Martin signed with Haymon, he was with an outfit called King Sports - who have nothing to do with Don King
Why? He couldn't even beat Malik Scott. Giftkov is an overblown amatuer star that is barely mediocre as a pro
It's well documented that Duva has excessive influence with the IBF, but in this case we have a Duva/Haymon partnership....otherwise there's no way the unified champ gets stripped a week after winning the titles. Duva/Haymon are setting up an eventual title clash between the WBC and IBF title holders that won't involve Klitschko or Fury. This might happen in 2016, or they might wait and let a rivalry build up for a fight in 2017. Bear in mind that Povetkin might grab the WBC title soon so this might be the only way for Duva/Haymon to have an American title holder.
Not a Fury fan but this is BS and the ugly part of the sport. This is how second rate fighters like Haye, Valuev, Stiverne,Wilder get paper titles and call themselves champs.
To set the record straight, on a personal level I can't stand Fury. He's a complete moron and clown, as far as I am concerned. However, IBF stripping him of his title, just days after he won it fair and square is a complete disgrace, And the supplied justification is not even a sad joke. Sorry, but words such as corruption, mafia, etc. come to mind in this case. Absolute disgrace!
