This fight could acctually make sense for Fury if they hold it in Mexico and Ruiz gets dunno 27.5% of the purse. The live gate and the ppv sales could make it good business for Fury, and also putting that international stamp on himself. Ruiz is Mexico, Zhang in China, AJ in Ethiopia etc.
Wouldn't be surprised if it really was Ortiz. I mean he's coming of a loss and is close to fifty years old.
There were quite a few people on this board who thought Luis Ortiz, even though he was dropped a couple times, earned the decision over Andy Ruiz. (I thought that was a stretch, myself. But there were even some mods here who did. For what that's worth.) Luis seems to have finally lost the ability to take a punch to the right side of his head. He just falls down, even if he just pops back up. It's like a switch. Hit him in the ear and his knees give out. (Some people never fully recover from a KO.) I can't see him staying off the deck against Fury. Fury would club him to death. Bakole or Ajagba would be good. I think Ajagba was the guy who gave Fury a beating in camp before the third fight with Wilder was postponed due to "covid." I think Fury would manhandle all of them. But Luis needs to call it a day, IMO. Fury-Bakole in a tuneup in the UK would be a "proper event."
This guy would take $250-500k without blinking an eye and is more dangerous than Ruiz Jr...but casuals are dumb and don't know Bakole. Tis a shame.
Warren says Fury won't be out till December -> Fury shouts at Instagram. Our era might end up very good in hindsight, with Wilder, Joshua, Fury coming back and Usyk moving up, but it is incredibly frustrating to live through.
What bit? He'd take £500k yes that's a career high. Far more dangerous than Ruiz Jr absolutly, style wise Ruiz has no chance against Fury. Are casuals dumb and don't know Bakole? Yes....
This is as likely an opponent as anyone except Charr (Fury's true desire). Ortiz is ancient and has no punch resistance.
I bet Fury didn’t even try negotiating. The man is so full of **** we really don’t know what to believe.
