I know event rigging is rife in sport, but how often do bookmakers withhold payment?

Rarely, if ever, I'm guessing.

I googled the example you cited, and can't see any bookies who didn't pay, only Betfair (betting exchange, not bookmaker) didn't settle wagers between users:

I agree that the tennis match was likely fixed, but the point is that even if there is some evidence of rigging - which there wasn't in the Joshua fight - the bookies will still pay out every time, unless it's concrete like the Calciopoli in Italy as the above user mentioned.

 

The ATP are about as trustworthy as Lance Armstrong. That match was undoubtedly fixed.

Whilst Betfair were purely an exchange at the time, they could see the match for what it was. Bookies are scum and will gladly **** people over to suit their own needs.

The same type of posters hounding me for bet money, are the same type of gambling fiends, who stand outside a betting shop in the pouring rain, cigerette in one hand, a can of tennents in the other, waiting for it to open, where the cashier and security guard knows them by thier first name.

The same type of people who would have a knife fight with their siblings on the street or murder their friend, if they were owned £20, or they'd resort to smashing their car or home window and screaming ''ya owe ma f**king money, ya scummy welcher''

This bet wasn't even my idea, I just agreed to it, but when I found out the fight was rigged, I realised that no one deserved any payout.

 

Firstly I don't care if you believe me re. having an alt, that's your prerogative. You're wrong but whatever, it's not a big deal.

Secondly you made an entire thread dedicated to collecting if you won - "fanboys best have my money" - when you had no intention of paying out when you lost. That is a **** move.

You consistently bang on about how wealthy you are but don't seem to be able to lay out a couple of hundred quid. It doesn't seem a lot to me for someone supposedly doing well but you're desperately trying to avoid paying it out. In my opinion you're either of weak character and can't accept losing, don't have the money or both. Either way you have my pity.

Banging on about probably - I say probably as I accept I don't know for sur- nonexistent range rovers won't change anything. You've been proven to be a liar and deserve to be treated as a pariah on these boards until you either man up and pay out or admit that you were all hot air and don't have the cash to pay out.

 

I've already done explain all reasons why the bet is void. You are not willing to engage and listen, but have your ideas on what should be honoured and I have mine and we're not gonna agree.
