Bivol said Canelo single shots harder than Beterbiev..........................I would ask Ngannou who he thinks harder between Fury and Joshua.

    Sometimes "res ipsa loquitur".

Some of these responses remind me of the story of the guy eating a pie who says 'this is the best pie l have ever tasted' and a guy walks past and says 'it doesn't look that good.'

I'll take the word of the guy who actually tasted the pie

If they were both able to stand there and throw their hardest shot and land, Joshua may hit harder, but Fury is a much sharper puncher, so I can believe this.. He seems much more likely to land punches his opponent doesnt see coming, and with more of a snap rather than a thud.

He probably just didn’t feel or remember the biggest shots that landed on him. There’s footage of him being badly staggered and completely out on his feet from a single very pedestrian looking punch from Usyk in sparring.

I reckon hes on to something. Furys a big bloke. When he sits down on his punches he can punch. I think joshua has the better 1 punch knockout power but theres a reason outwith furys movement that opponents become a bit apprehensive.

Similar to mayweather. Watched too many opponents kind of resign themselves to defeat from early against him to realise they punches are harder than they look.

There's an interview where Holyfield explains this. He was asked whether Tyson or Foreman hit harder. His answer was, paraphrased, "I couldn't tell you who hit harder but I can tell you who hit ME harder" (and it was Foreman, who he said hit him with the single hardest punch he ever took).

He also said that Bowe overall hurt him more than anyone, that Foreman hit him with single punches harder than Bowe did, but that everything Bowe threw hurt.

Fury his a deceptively hard puncher it's hard not to be with his size alone.

Maybe Fury is capable of hitting harder when he wants to, but doesnt commit to throwing at full power much in actual fights.

It's always of some interest what they have to say but objectively, you'd have to be deluded t to believe Fury generally hits harder than AJ. We have too much publicly available data on this to draw the opposite conclusion. It's not even close enough to be close.

What I suspect Allen is really meaning here is "when I sparred these guys, I felt Fury's punches more than the others" which could mean a bunch of different things.

The others might be trying not to hurt their sparring partner. Maybe they'd KO him but he wouldn't actually feel it (that clip with Usyk), maybe their punches push him back but don't actually hurt etc.

Fury might have hit Allen harder during their spar. But that doesn't mean he hits harder generally. Back in the days there was a Polish boxer, Przemyslaw Saleta, the European HW champion. He sparred both Klitschko brothers and said Vitali hits harder. But that goes against almost everyone else saying Wlad hit way harder. So, did Vitali hit harder than Wlad? No. But he definitely hit Saleta harder.

The more I see Usyk, in and out of the ring, the more I think he might just be my favorite fighter of all time….
