I gave round 1 to Usyk by a maggots eye lash. Round 2 to Fury by a similar margin and from there I gave him 3,4,5,6,7, after that I gave Usyk every round including a 10-8.

It was a fight of 2 halfs and the pressure from Usyk was brilliant, his composure was and he attacked in a very intelligent way.

It's evident Fury got tired which hampered him quite a lot. He couldn't turn the screwdriver after he hurt Usyk in them mid rounds then backed off and got sloppy, smushed nose made things worse. Usyk looked to be having rounds off and tired also. Shows how many micro adjustments they are making against one another boxing at such a high level, they are processing much more information than your average AJ bum dosser bodybuilder. Fury came mostly unstuck when his feet slowed that tiny amount that allowed Usyk to close the distance fast enough where Fury couldn't escape.

Usyk himself said Fury was his toughest fight. Described afterward how much trouble he was in when that bomb of a Fury uppercut landed on him. Said he was relieved to find he still had teeth.

You are insane! Usyk is going to take the judges out if this one. When Fury gets in trouble, look for Usyk to finish him unless the ref comes to his rescue again. Good fight, I hope the rematch is as entertaining.

Don't really understand where the narrative of the referee saving Fury comes from. If he wanted to save Fury he would have called a count earlier BEFORE Fury took punishing follow up shots.

I understand that argument. Yours only work after the fact. Here is the devils advocate view: If you were protecting fury you won’t call it because he didn’t go down and hence could avoid a 10-8 round. That’s what you would do in the moment. Only when he was about to get knocked out for good would you call it and at the wrong time really usyk was about to knock him out literally. Then all of a sudden the 10-8 call is more protective than seeing him laid out. Now think about it this way: if he was not protecting and was all about the rules, then the first moment his back touches the ropes he’d call a knockdown. That in reality would have helped fury even though that would not have been the referees intent. Make sense?

I understand the argument. But it still doesn't make sense if the refs job is purely to protect Fury. Maybe he calls it a slip the first time, or calls a break for a BS reason. You don't wait until he's almost knocked out to call a KD.

And showboating to the crowd while doing F all in the ring does not win you rounds.

Yes, I’ve highlighted multiple times that the ref’s initial priority, obviously being to save Fury from a 10-8 round, changing and escalating to the need to save Fury altogether.

Even accepting that the ref bypassed the rules, allowing Fury the opportunity to stay on his feet materially, that should’ve at least meant that the ref had completely waived ruling any technical KDs, his next intervention, without Fury touching down otherwise, having to be a stoppage.

As it was, the ref clearly played the each way bet in Fury’s favour.

Many of those who believe that the ref didn’t err or show bias don’t address at all the ref impeding Usyk several times during the round and his improper assistance of Fury part way back to his corner at the finish of the round.

There’s more than just 1 or 2 damming dots to join in respect of the ref’s highly questionable conduct.

I think a common misconception amongst the Usyk / Joshua fans is to blindly award Usyk rounds 1,2, and 3. I think that is a hugely harsh perception of the fight.

I'm a big believer that more rounds should be awarded 10-10 unless it's a reasonably decisive round. To have Fury down 30-27 is bull****. The 3 judges all had it 29-28 usyk after 3 rounds which I could just about accept, still harsh on Fury though imo.

In all honesty, I think rounds 1,2,3,11,12 are open to interpretation in this fight, the other 7 rounds are definitive rounds. Giving 10-9s in very close rounds is what leads to far too many ****ed up scorecards in boxing imo, there should be way more 10-10s scored.

It's funny how Fury fanboys want people to suddenly change scoring criteria just to keep themselves in the delusion that he might have edged the fight, lol.

Too bad that if we went by what you're saying, Fury should have lost the first Wilder fight, as most of the rounds would be 10-10 and Wilder would have 2 10-8 rounds.

Given Wilder missed most of his punches outside of the two rounds he got KDs in that's a bit of a stretch tbh.

Not a fan of too many 10-10 rounds myself, they should be exceptionally rare, but the first three rounds were very close with limited action. Personally I gave Usyk round 1 and gave Fury 2 & 3, but understand why some may give them to Usyk.

They landed similar amount of punches in most of the rounds and the momentum was swinging all over the place. If we're doing 10-10 rounds, Wilder will have 2 10-8 rounds and 1 10-9, Fury will have 2 10-9 rounds and rest of them would be 10-10.

Don't get me wrong, I scored the fight for Fury 114-112, just showing how flawed that logic is.
