Even if they do ban him from doping and the BBBoC take away his license that doesn't mean his career is definitely over. He can sit out the ban and re-apply for a license at a later date like Hatton did when his license was taken away for cocaine. And even if the win over Wlad is taken from him, which I doubt it will be based upon what's happened with other cases, he'll still claim he is the man and enough will pay to see whoever is on top after he comes back to make him millions in his return. If and when he does come back, he could very well likely have a huge payday waiting for him, depending upon who comes out on top of the current crop vying for his titles. If Joshua is undisputed by then, can you imagine the hype around Joshua/Fury, the clean cut current champ, vs the dirty cheat of a villain ex-champ of old. Hearn is probably rock hard at the thought of promoting that fight.
By the time Fury comes back, he'll be probably be 400 lbs and have had mountains of coke and countless partying to ruin whatever skills he had. But you're right, people will pay good money to see the disgrace get beat up.
If Joshua wins all the belts in Fury's absence, and then Fury (the champion who was never beaten) comes back for them, then it would be this generation's Fight of the Century. Wembley Stadium wouldn't be big enough. For both fighters, that is a legacy-making clash. It's right up there with anything that's gone before.
lets say he gets his boxing licence taken away from him, can he in theory apply for a licence from another nation and still fight? i recall some boxers getting licences from luxembourg and still fighting in the uk. or could he just choose to fight in places like russia where they dont care about british boxing licences.
Sort of. It was the Haye Chisora fight your thinking of. the BBBoC wouldn't sanction the fight because Chisora was in the sh*t over his behaviour around Klitchko. The boxing board of Luxembourg sanctioned it instead. From what I remember , both boxers had their licences but Chisora was banned by the BBBoC.
Fury greatly damaged whatever little brand he had. He wasn't very marketable in the first place, but his unreliability basically torpedoed whatever little pull Fury had before this mess. No major TV station will touch Fury's comeback with a 10 ft. pole.
You are wrong. Hearn and Sky cannot wait for Fury to come back. There is a lot of money to be made in Joshua v Fury. In fact, it is the biggest fight in boxing today. The biggest fight in British boxing history if it is for all the belts (which it might welll be). As for Fury's brand - he is the undefeated heavyweight champion of the world. Joshua and Wilder are belt holders. How's that for a brand?
With Fury out the way, and a few good fights in the division in these last 2 months of the year and things potentially can be salvaged.
Whether you like it or not, they are all undefeated heavyweight champions of the world. The difference is that Fury has failed multiple drugs tests for various substances in achieving this.......and as of now the other two have not. In fact, if todays reports are accurate, Tyson Fury has now failed 3 drugs tests and refused one.....so that will count as 4, in the last 18 months. I don't know the current number of Hughies failed drugs tests to date, last I heard it was 1.......but with a family that built its wealth on selling drugs it would hardly come as a surprise if more and more tests failed come to light.
Well he isn't since he has now failed at least 4 drugs tests to get 'there'. He is no Champ, just a disgrace.
Fury barely beat an aging Wlad who thought he'd get away with a hometown decision. That backfired for Wlad. He was all ready to KO fury in the rematch and prove that he (Fury) was no more than a flash in the pan. But Fury was a very naughty boy and the governing bodies are about to spank him hard. Strip and ban him = make an example of him. Boxing really wont miss him. What a total fool he has shown himself to be on social media - the coke pic, just goes to show this man has less working brain cells than he was born with. And when he talks of being a religious man he then goes to prove he is nothing more than a hypocrite of the highest order. All the flak he gave Haye and he goes and does FAR worse. Good riddance.
