Yeah I think thats part of it. The level of the opponent & his style wasnt gonna equal fireworks, there was a great atmosphere though & those tecate ring girls :love :love Looks like Marquez-Rios in the summer :bbb
I've been saying for a while that Marquez would batter **** out of Rios. While I expect Rios to be far more comfortable at 140, Marquez is far too accurate and will stop him late
i think you can always tell the super talented boxers who will go a long way,i don't think eubank is one of those :deal **** i hope im wrong, but i don't see him being a world champ, possible brit and euro, which in itself is top notch, but i hate with a passion how these kids get hyped without having proved a thing:deal
Eubank Jr needs to get away from his old man and make his own name in the game, having him around hogging the limelight is just added pressure you don't need early in your career.
You're probably right but for that guy to say he's **** and going nowhere after 3 fights is just as bad as the people hyping him up.
That ****ing laughable. I barely gave him 2, and that was me saying ok he landed 1 maybe 2 clean shots in that round. Thats one of the worst decisions i've seen. It was clear as day that Rios lost. His bodylanguage throughout the fight, he was gassed after like 6-7 rounds, , getting frustrated hitting on the break, talking to the ref & abril, everything showed he had no gameplan to counteract Abrils long rangy style. I honestly dont believe that. It will take some special type of screwjob to beat that as 'Robbery Of The Year'. :fire
"I don't like Rios either as a character. But he seems to have an iron jaw and his style means just walking down fighters eventually and beating them. He's a lower weight Margarito, can see him stopping Abril late. Or taking a close points decision. It just depends on how Abril fights, if Abril boxes on the backfoot and fights smart he could pull out an SD." Joke of a decision ruined my prediction.
Just caught up with last nights boxing. Abril put on a boxing masterclass and completely pummelled Rios really. I had it 10-2 and the 2 rounds to Rios were hardly convincing. One of the judges had it 8-4 Rios? :-( The sad thing was you could see it coming a mile off. Marquez put on a good display, against a difficult style opponent. Won pretty much every round and didn't look that old. But the Abril/Rios robbery shows why I dislike tv cards like this so much. When you get a joint headline fight where the 2 name fighters are supposed to meet later, we nearly always get either complete mismatches, or awful decisions. Marquez/Rios is still a good fight (even though it looks like JMM should rip Bam Bam to pieces on the inside), but that's no excuse for the blatant corruption that tried it's best to ruin last nights tv card. :rofl
120-108 Abril. I turned off after the Rios fight, I feel so bad for Abril. He got completely screwed and now he's not going to be touched by anyone at the top level - this should've been his coming out party. Makes me sick. I've never felt so done with boxing as I do now.
:good Cheers mate, I thought JMM could stop him late but looks like Fedchenko wanted to get to points for a moral victory.
