    And?
So is Jennings a good boxer who could make someone like Wlad struggle, or was Wlad just on the decline?
Because if you say that Wlad was on the decline, then I don´t see how you could praise Ortiz all that much.

P.S I think Jennings was an underrated contender. Legit top 10 and Ortiz fought a beautiful fight that night. Unfortunately he did **** all for the following two years before finally getting a title shot, at which point he was 38. The same age Wlad was when he fought Jennings.

Jennings wasn't any good. Neither was Ortiz. Neither was that version of Wlad.

This is a popular fiction - it was a wide UD for good reason.

I think you're misreading excessive hype as legitimate/serious perception.

This reads as a confirmation bias job to downplay one fighter as hard as possible whilst pushing another as hard as possible... It's simply not consistent .

Well, besides being consistent to the Wilder hype narrative, that is.

Struggled with who, Jennings? Lol. What fight did you watch? It was a wide UD, with Klitschko landing 144 punches and Jennings landing 110. That's a difference of about 30%, mate. If that's close and struggling, then you're basically saying that if your boss offers you a 30% raise, you'd say, "Hey, whatever, it wouldn't make any difference to me, so thanks but don't bother."

In any case, even if Wlad struggled with Jennings (he didn't), styles make fights. Usyk had a really tough fight against Briedis, yet schooled Joshua, Dubois, and Fury. Triangle theories never work in boxing.

People were starting to seriously wonder if Wlad still had it after the Bryant Jennings fight. Max Kellerman mentions that topic in the Klitschko Fury fight when they get in the ring and they're about to get introduced. Jim Lampley describes Wlad's compubox stats as an "utterly dreadful effort" after the fight. Roy Jones is jumping up and down and yelling for Wlad to throw the punch because as a fighter he can see the opening and Wlad just won't throw it. You guys are seeing and remembering the Klitschko name but this was not the same guy for those Fury and Joshua fights, or even the Jennings fight.

A lot of people felt Jennings gave him a tough fight. Max Kellerman mentions that in lead up to the main event for the Klitschko Fury fight. Says in effect that Klitschko might no longer have it. 12 rounds later he landed just 18 power shots in total for the whole fight. Thats around 1 or 2 per round for most of the rounds. Then after a performance like that he takes a 2 year layoff.

Ortiz was literally 39 in Wilder 1 on paper. And in real age 45.

And Klitschko didn't look great against Jennings for sure. I think Pulev was thw first fight where Klitschko decline can be easily seen. Not that it started there, but was clear. Footwork and Klitschko jab and right hand was literally gone at that point.

He said that when Wilder was in his prime and maybe he was right?

I think Usyk would have beaten him.

But put 2018-2020 Wilder against anyone else in the division at the time, AJ was gunshy, who else would have a better than 50-50 chance of beating Wilder?

I'd put Fury and Usyk ahead of Wilder, everyone else in 2018-2020 wouldn't be favourite to beat him IMO.
